Good hummus, weird fries - Edit
Nice place to get a plate of hummus and warm pita bread but avoid the fries if you can, they were way too oily and weird-tasting. Restaurant staff is very friendly and prices are good. Beware the big portions - although I eat a lot of food usually it was hard to finish the hummus plate + fries.

excellent hummus - Edit
A lot of stuff suitable for vegans. The falafel are really small but 10 balls is more than enough.
Read moreThe pita bread is really thick bread and the laffa is really slim. I recommend that one

So good! - Edit
I got the hummus complete plate and it was delish!! It came with falafel, mushrooms, tahini and lavas bread for dipping. I was able to come here with my Omni friend and we were both super happy with our meals! Would def recommend if you are traveling with non vegans. Prices were very reasonable as well!

The food was great and for a vegan it was nice that the ingredients were clearly told in the menu. Also the home-made lemonade was absolutely delicious and the staff was friendly.

Best vegan food in Budapest - Edit
My husband eats meat like a big cat and I’m a vegan! It’s hard to dine together. Humans bar makes if possible, with his bird corpse on a plate plus fabulous freshly cooked healthy food.

Hummus - Edit
Hummus was good, we got mixed plate with mushrooms and some whole chickpeas. Mushrooms was good but chispkeas has no taste. We got better hummus in Mazel tov (if you are hummus expert, try that one) but this was still okey, good portions.

LOVE!!! - Edit
This place has amazing falafel and hummus, crispy fries and many other wonderful vegan options. A great place for vegans and non-vegans to share a meal. Huge portions so it's very filling, but great prices. Locations all around the city, so don't miss!

Not that many vegan options. Mediocre hummus. - Edit
I have visited different Hummus Bar venues over the years in Budapest. I think the quality has dropped. Their hummus is quite tasteless for me.
Read moreLast time I went I asked whether the falafel and the pita bread is vegan or not. The staff said that the falafel contains eggs and the pita contains milk. Without these there are a few dishes a vegan can choose from.
Pros: It is quite cheap, They have several restaurants in the city
Cons: Hummus is mediocre, Falafel and pita bread is NOT vegan

Probably the best falafel I've ever had - Edit
The falafel here was amazing, probably the best I've ever eaten. The rest of the food was also great, staff were friendly, and prices seemed on par with the rest of the city. Had a great lunch here.

Nice Lunch Spot! - Edit
Perfect place to go for a filling, inexpensive, tasty lunch. Staff were not the most efficient but the atmosphere outdoors was nice so we didn't notice that much. I've tasted a lot of falafel and this was one of the best!

in top 3 falafels I've ever had - Edit
I used go to hummus bars (it's a chain located in various parts of the city) a lot back when I lived in Budapest and the reason is the consequent high quality of the food. Their falafels are super crunchy and tasty, and the hummus is smooth and tasty - I can't say a bad word about it. The salad has a bit of a 'pickled' feeling, which might not fit everyone's taste, but I can only see as an advantage. Moreover, they serve free homemade lemonade during the summer and turkish tea during the winter, which is a very nice thing.
Read moreHummus bar in Oktober 6 street is the best of all the restaurants in the chain, and as far as I know the only one that bakes their own durum/pita (as of late 2015) - the only thing I would mark as an area for improvement in other restaurants of the chain. The home-baked goods are delicious and go perfect with what I would describe as one of the best falafels I've ever had. I absolutely recommend!!!
EDIT
I went there again after 1,5 years and I must say that the quality dropped what some friends living in Budapest have confirmed :-( The hummus was not the same!

Tasteless hummus - Edit
Unfortunately my hummus salad was bland. The hummus lacked all of the ingredients needed to make hummus delicious. It was basically chick peas and tahini, it didn't have lemon juice, olive oil, salt etc.

I had the hummus and fried eggplant on pita, it was very good. I did request no eggs, and it came with sliced egg, so I sent it back. They were very apologetic. I look forward to going back and trying other things, like the Turkish salad.
