Ambiance - Edit
Fancy place with several vegan options. Staff understands vegan and very helpful. My son and I shared the sesame tofu (with noodles) and macadamia crusted tofu (with green rice) meals. He liked the sesame tofu with the green rice, I found everything to be quite tasty. Price is spendy, but location and presentation was 10/10.

Yay! Tofu fettuccini! - Edit
We had a great dinner had a perfect table with friends and we’re so happy to see a vegan main dish we could eat! We got a wonderful tofu fettuccine. Great drinks and wine, and the service was superb!

Deliciousness - Edit
Had a wonderful vegan meal overlooking a stunning view. Offered a delicious rosemary garlic white bean spread with their complimentary bread and several unique vegan dishes to choose from with high quality tofu. Local guava sorbet was amazing. Live music, too. Avoid eating at their sister restaurant next door -Huggos on the Rocks. No comparison!

Fantastic food with several vegan options - Edit
We had a blast at Huggo’s. There are several veggie en vegan options, and think along to turn a meal into a vegan one. Great service and one of the only places with great cozy sitting and beautiful view at the sea. And often live music! I recommend it highly.

LOL - Edit
The food was good but this was just not our type of restaurant I guess. We were told by the waitress to take our water bottle off the table. She also asked us a dozen times things like “can I get you any appetizers,” “what can I get you besides water to drink, “is that all for you,” so it seemed to us that she was getting annoyed that we weren’t ordering enough. You can veganize a lot of their menu, and we really enjoyed what we got. They have some sorbets too, with flavors that change every night. The view was absolutely spectacular, and I would say go just for this.

Surprisingly multiple vegan options - Edit
You can substitute tofu into a lot of dishes instead of seafood and they are vegan. They also had a vegan option as well. Pretty tasty, great ocean view, a bit expensive however

New Menu, Vegan Options - Edit
I’ve been to Huggo’s a few times over the past year for their cocktails and lovely ocean breezes in spite of their lack of vegan options.
Read moreHowever, it looks like they finally figured it out! They have an updated menu with 3 AMAZING vegan entree options substituting tofu as an option to their seafood.
- Spicy Sichimi Togarashi tofu with mashed ube and haupia sauce (my fave)
- Macadamia nut crusted tofu with rice and a ginger lemongrass sauce
- Sesame seared tofu with yakisoba and an orange plum sauce
It’s WAY pricey (almost $40 for each entree), and it’s annoying that they don’t take reservations. That’s why I gave them 3 stars and not 4.
Cons: Expensive

A few vegan options, very tasty - Edit
We ate here for dinner one night during our stay on the island. Our group wanted a fancier dinner with a view. They had 1 vegan appetizer (fries) and 1 vegan entree (pasta). Both were very good- we especially liked the pasta! There was also a vegan dessert option (coconut sherbet), but we were too full to try it. Although we wished there were more vegan options, we were very happy with the ones clearly labeled on the menu and the non-vegans in the group were happy as well.

Worst meal I’ve had on the island - Edit
We went here because the menu posted online had a lot of vegan options. We showed up and there was a 30 minute wait. Ok, no problem, we will wait. As we’re waiting we notice that the menu posted at the entrance is different than the one online.... I figured it was the old menu and they just hadn’t updated it yet. We get sat and they give us a totally different menu than the one posted or the one online.
Read moreI got the jack sandwich and it was so bad. It was described as a jackfruit sandwich with guava hoisin and caramelized onions, and coconut slaw, but the onions were just raw sliced onion. And the jackfruit tasted like perfume? Absolutely horrible. And the coconut slaw that came in the sandwich equaled about 1 teaspoon. I would stay away from here. Hopefully they can get their menu figured out.

Vegan options on menu - Edit
As of January 2020 vegan options are marked on the menu at Huggos and Huggo's on the rocks. I believe their meat replacement is Beyond Meat products. They also offer Jackfruit. Great atmosphere, fun place to go!

Great for the vegan eating with the family - Edit
I had breakfast there, and we all know breakfast is hard to eat out vegan. But man was the modified avocado toast great. We went back for dinner and there were enough options to have actual choices and even an appetizer or two. It’s right on the water and beautiful.

Vegan options available! - Edit
Some items can be veganized with a plant-based patty or jack fruit. Wasn’t great.. maybe since the vegan options were new they’re still working out the flavors, but I give them credit for trying and for being one of the only restaurants in the area that even offered vegan options.

New menu alert! Several New Vegan Dishes - Edit
I was in search of a seaside dining option and called to see if they had vegan options. To my surprise they just revamped their menu and added hearts of Palm as a substitution for several of their main dishes. We tried two and they were both very tasty.

Hunger - Edit
Went with my family who are carnivores and fried food addicts who are allergic to all vegetables. All I can find as a vegan was a green salad and brown rice. They should put up a large sign “Vegans can enter if they want to starve”.
