Bingo - hit the jackpot - Edit
The queues for this place are pretty insane, and I can see why, the quality of the food and drink make this a very solid offer. I only got a take out coffee and flapjack but I’ll return to get a table because the stuff I spied, and the interesting menu looked awesome.

Great Coffee & Food - Edit
Been here a couple of times for coffee and it’s always be great. Stopped for food this time and was blown away by for good it was. I had the Baked Crème Brûlée Oats with roasted peaches and it was honestly the best oats dish I think I’ve ever had. Will be back 🔥

Unexpected awesomeness - Edit
We stumbled across homeground and thought their menu looked pretty good so headed in and was blown away by such a gorgeous ambience, lovely staff, the best coffee I may have ever had (iced oat milk latte - and I'm a coffee snob!), yummy lunch and fab takeaway cakes. I had the falafel burger which was so up my street - freshly fried falafel with pickles and spicy mayo and my partner had veganised avo on toast with some mushrooms which he was very impressed by. We took away the chocolate cake and flapjack which were also very lovely. Highly recommended!

Awesome avo & mushrooms - Edit
Delicious mushrooms with tasty avo on lovely sourdough bread. Only one piece of bread but it was big, and plenty of avo so a good size portion overall. A great brunch/lunch option!

I can wholeheartedly point you towards orange hot chocolate with Oatly.

They also had quite a few deliciously looking vegan cakes on the counter😄

Fabulous Lunch - Edit
Have tried to visit Homeground before but been unable to get a seat, but managed to sit outside today for lunch. The festive vegan option was 'buttermilk' biscuit with wild mushrooms, sage & onion stuffing, fried sage leaves, Jerusalem artichoke puree. They had run out of the biscuit so served it with sourdough made by local bakery More Artisan at Staveley.. It was a magnificent dish, I could not fault it, it was a shame to finish it, totally scrumptious. Revisited for breakfast and had creamed baked oats with pretzel crumb and maple syrup. The most decadent porridge I've ever eaten it was faultless. Now I know why there is always a queue and why its been so hard to get a seat. Highly recommended.

Worth the wait! - Edit
We were unsure whether to wait when we saw the queue, especially as there was only one savoury vegan option, but we realised what all of the fuss was about once we had made it inside.
Read moreThe decor was incredibly Instagram worthy (if that’s your jam), the staff were friendly and there was a generally relaxed atmosphere.
We both chose the buttermilk biscuit, not really knowing what to expect and a side of hash browns. Neither dish looked or tasted how we expected. They were both unusual and exceptional (in the best way)!
The only downside for us was that because there was an ever growing queue outside, we felt that we shouldn’t linger.
Pros: Delicious food
Cons: Not many vegan options
