Great flavour combos - Edit
So many unique dishes here with great flavour combinations I’ve never tried before! The oyster mushrooms and rice pud were my favourites.

Delightful - Edit
Holy Carrot was a welcome oasis in the chaos of Notting Hill on a sunny Saturday. All the staff were absolutely lovely and the menu boasts a variety of inventive dishes based around seasonal organic veg - the beetroot and blueberry was particularly wonderful! Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

The food and services were incredible. The artichoke was one of the best things I ever eaten in my life. Only downside is that everything includes soya which does not agree with me but it was worth the stomach pain

Nice Atmosphere & Fermentation - Edit
The pickles and ferments were interesting. The mushroom ragout was too salty and oily. The Caesar salad was too oily and wasn’t very flavorful. The soft serve was tasty but not better than vegan ice cream from the grocery store.
Read moreNevertheless, the space is pleasant; there is outdoor seating. I also appreciated that many of the fermented items are made in-house.

Worth the wait! - Edit
Visited in May, Holy Carrot, which has been on my list of restaurants to try for months. I’d been eagerly following their social media for a while. It was certainly worth the wait, however a little different from expected, There seems to be a concept of ‘small’ and ‘large’ plates with the idea of ordering a few, and sharing. Gives the restaurant an upmarket Mediterranean feel. I found the ‘large’ plates’ a little smaller than expected, but the vibrant, creative and very colourful dishes made up for it. The different cooking techniques give some interesting flavours. All organic produce and purchased from smaller suppliers, which is always welcomed. We were a party of 4, and shared several large and small plates including - Asparagus, Smoked Tofu, Herb Mayonnaise, Shakshouka Grilled Peppers, Smoked Tofu, Focaccia, and carrots in white bean purée, We enjoyed everything and had room for dessert all of which are refined sugar free! A huge selling point for many people. As we arrived we were told it was the cocktail happy hour which was welcomed so we all enjoyed an excellent Margarita!

H(oily) Carrot - Edit
Got the schnitzel sandwich and my partner got the flatbread, both highly recommended by our waitress. I was a little surprised that the burger didn't come with any side (typically some greens or fries), but not a big deal! They both were delicious, but very oily and very pricey (we're used to USD). Not upset we went, but not a must-go. Service was great and super cute vibes.

Great quality food - Edit
Tonight was my first time at Holy Carrot and I was very impressed! My partner and I shared a starter, a small plate, large plate, and two desserts and each had some wine. Everything was so wonderful and all the flavors blended together really well. I love how vegetable focused the menu is! The almond and cashew soft serve was some of the best soft serve I’ve ever had, especially since going vegan.

Service a bit meh, but nice food - Edit
I have mixed feelings about the new Holy Carrot (since they moved to Notting Hill). We used to go there often but it has totally different vibes now. Also it used to be fully gluten-free, not anymore...
Read moreTheir new restaurant is very nicely decorated (very minimalist) and elegant. Given their new location, it's possible that they're more popular than before and unfortunately it became a bit commercial as a result. They were fully booked on the day we went, which is great for them, but I didn't like being told "we have the table for 1h30" before we even sat down. And they were right, we almost felt kicked out 1h30 later (on the nose) because they needed the table for the next reservation. We also felt encouraged to order more, which I don't like either ("Are you not going to order any starter with it?"). We said we wanted to leave room for dessert, almost like we were justifying ourselves for not ordering a starter.
Service apart, the food was really good. It's just very centred around vegetables. It's amazing to promote veggies in such a creative way and I'm not surprised many love this restaurant. But if you're gluten-free, options will be drastically limited. It's even more frustrating knowing they used to offer a fully gluten-free menu before. We did enjoy our food nonetheless, but the overall experience didn't necessarily make us want to go back.

First time visiting Holy Carrot this afternoon with my fiancé. We shared the koji bread with smoked mushroom chilli ragu, caesar salad with tempeh, crispy mushroom wings (WOW!) and the fries we cleaned every plate! Will definitely be returning. Also the decor is amazing, the place was buzzing!

Holy Carrot - 3.5 Stars - Edit
Overall, it was a good experience. The koji bread and celeriac were really good. I quite liked the carrot dish, but my partner wasn’t in love with it. There were definitely two dishes that left us very disappointed—the Stracciatella (maybe it would have been better paired with something else, but it was bland and boring) and the sticky toffee pudding (which was so dry and boring we just took a bite or two and left a majority of it behind). The service also wasn’t great. For this being an elevated dining experience and costing us just under £200, we just expected a lot better. It was also really annoying that staff *repeatedly* tried taking away dishes while we were *still* actively eating them…what’s up with that? The staff should have also asked if everything was OK with the dessert because we barely touched it—if it usually tastes the way it did, then I wouldn’t recommend it.
