Good to get some different vegan food in Taiwan. Okononiyaki were tasty but nothing special if you’ve already had them before! I would recommend the teriyaki one, also tried the laksa one but it wasn’t quite as good. They both had a kind of vegan meat floss on top which was delicious, as was the vegan mayo. As it was the weekend we got a dorayaki, the pancakes were amazing and fluffy. The filling was a new flavour and texture for me, very interesting to try!

Glad this place exists! Nice to have a vegan okonomiyaki restaurant around. But the Omnituna one was a bit bland even after requesting it to be made spicy. The sweet soy sauce dango were nice and chewy. I wish they had dorayaki every day, but they only make them on weekends. Cash or local card (through their POS) only, no restrooms.

The food here is SO GOOD. I’m very grateful that my first okonomiyaki was at this fine establishment! The owners are very kind, and they were able to converse a bit in English to help my order. I also tried the tasty savory dango (chewy rice flour balls)

I tried both the okonomiyaki and the yakisabo. The okonomiyaki was so delicious! I would seriously recommend to try it (upsizing is only 15TWD, wish I had done that). The yakisoba was fine as well but I would go for the okonomiyaki for sure!

Vegan Okonomiyaki!! - Edit
Finally, after having the last okonomiyaki several years ago in Japan we found this nice place in Kaohsiung and it was a no brainer to try it out. And it was absolutely worth it. Really low price for what you get. We loved the Modanyaki and had some soy tofu balls as a side.

We ordered delivery. The portions were decent but the food just didn't have a lot of flavor: it came as a tonne of noodles with barely any vegetables and the noodles were quite dry. The okonomiyaki tasted okay although it was a little softer than I expected. I would have preferred a bigger okonomiyaki rather than it coming on a big pile of noodles, which is what I thought I ordered when I chose the larger size.

The place is spotless, air conditined and quiet.
I picked the Mondanyaki, which was really cheap and the taste was absolutely fantastic.
The place is completely vegan (also the mayo), and I wish I lived in Kaohsiung just to come here every day.

Quaint spot for some Japanese classics - Edit
It's been a while since I ate anything resembling authentic okonomiyaki or yakisoba, so Hola's food really hit the spot and made me happy I could eat the old favourites again! The restaurant is small but spotless (and wonderfully air conditioned on this hot summer evening) and the food, made outside on their cart, came quickly and was cheap as well. I had the yakisoba and plum okonomiyaki which only came to 160TWD - a real bargain. Definitely recommended!

Food is delicious and inexpensive. They also told me it’s actually fully vegan- no eggs or milk in sight! Maybe ask, just to be sure as it’s listed “vegetarian”, but the sign says vegan after all! I found the food quite filling. Yum.
