The meal was not good at all. Complete lack of any flavor, similar to eating cardboard. We had the fish and chips, try it at your own disappointment. For $100 American I expect much better. Still upset about this meal.

I was pretty disappointed by the vegan fish offered here. I've seen some old reviews mentioning banana blossom as the fish alternative, but that was nowhere to be seen.
Read moreInstead, the vegan fish is a strange, giant goujon-looking thing. It's definitely bought frozen and not made in house. Kind of like a giant fish finger but worse. Chewy and bland, not flaky at all.
The chips were delicious but I wouldn't recommend the vegan fish at all. You can find better elsewhere.

While it doesn’t look super good, kind of looks like frozen fish sticks or something, it really tasted great. Fried vegan sausage was awesome too. We were bummed we couldn’t make it to unity diner because it was closed during our visit and this was a solid replacement.

This place is a good choice if you are looking to try a vegan version of the infamous British fish and chips, but (in my opinion) it’s very greasy and bland. As a prior reviewer stated, it’s just fried jackfruit. Not particularly the calorie bomb that leaves me satisfied…especially since this dish lacks protein. Nice to try once.

Great idea to have “vegan” fish and chips. The chips were fantastic. However, the fish, as far as I could work out, was deep-fried jackfruit. Deep-fried jackfruit, in case you are wondering, is not very nice. If they sort out the “fish” aspect this would be a really good experience.

We ordered the vegan fish and chips, made from banana blossom. It was amazing and sooo delicious. Texture was a bit like jackfruit. Could have been a bit more fishy, but not 100 percent sure anymore what fish tastes like 😂 they tried to get the fishiness with seaweed which also helped to keep everything together when fried.

We had a takeaway ‘vegan fish and chips’ rather than dine-in. The advantage of that is you can stand and watch it get cooked. The chips are cooked separately but the fish - including banana blossom vegan version - are all cooked together. They do keep everything separate and I saw the chef wash his hands after handling fish before picking up the banana blossom but then it goes in the same place.

Es muy guay probar comida local en versión vegana. El sabor es bastante aceptable. Pero lo que más me impresionó es que tiene hasta “espinas” como un pescado, esto es gracias a las flores del banano. Me quedé muy impresionado. Recomendable, aunque sea como anécdota.

Had the vegan fish and chips and was so good. Massive portion too! I reckon if you get it to take away you could easily share one portion between two - it’s enough! But I asked if it was cooked separately before I ordered and the man said it can be if you want it to be. So this implies if you don’t ask it will be cooked in with the fish which I think is bad as you would assume that it’s separate if they are advertising it vegan. So if this bothers you please remember to ask for it cooked separately.

Never had banana blossom made into "fish" before so this was a fun way to be able to eat what all my non-vegan friends were eating. It's still a greasy meal like fish and chips is, but that's what I expected going in. I also got the mushy peas and those were tasty.
