Modern Vegan

First thing that we noticed when arriving was the modern decor and menu. We were also just so happy to find a vegan restaurant in Siam Reap that looked inviting.
We ate here a couple of times while in Siam Reap and also got take out. The outside seating area can be very hot during the day, but the inside area is well air conditioned with fans running too.
Food is good, most of the dishes tasted healthy, not oily which we appreciated. Smoothies were lovely!

The only fully vegan place in Siem Reap

Compared to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap is a lot more relaxed and laid back. Because of the temples here, Siem Reap also has a very spiritual vibe to it. It is a great place to go. Unfortunately there is only one fully vegan restaurant here (as of October 2024) and it is HeyBong. This place is in a quiet street a little away from Pub Street. This road is a mixture of dirt road and concrete road. There is plenty of street parking. The place is very nice. There is a verandah that gives you shade and there are many fans to keep you cool. The food is delicious. The menu is huge, so even though it's the only vegan place in town, you can come back again and again and won't try everything until quite a while. I enjoyed the cauliflour bites, the scrambled tofu, the vegetable dumplings, and the cocoespresso. The staff here are also great.

Pros: Location slightly away from Pub Street , The only fully vegan restaurant in Siem Reap , Nice staff

Amazing breakfast

We went for breakfast and loved it! Had mushrooms/avo on toast and avo/chickpeas on toast 😍… and I don’t know what they put in those sauces but wow! We had a juice & protein smoothie that were too nice they were gone before we remembered to take a photo. I had the blueberry protein shake - I usually hate protein smoothies/shakes I don’t know what possessed me to order but it was delicious couldn’t taste the ‘protein’

Pros: Outdoor courtyard, Friendly staff, Delicious breakfast

Cons: Would have loved another slice of toast haha

Delicious, big portions

Lovely setting, down a relatively dark street at night but seemed quite safe.

Great menu, lots of wraps and burgers, I had the cauliflower nuggets ($3.50) which was a huge portion I couldn’t finish (you can get them packaged up) and then a tropical chicken burger ($6) which was a fried oyster mushroom, salad, pineapple and bbq sauce in a bun with ‘funky fries’ which I think are sweet potato, as they tasted different from regular fries.

Also had the passionfruit iced tea (500ml – $3.50) which is not sweet but quite refreshing.

Would happily return.

Really great food and only fully vegan restaurant of the area

It was really good, fries aside (but I’m Belgian so my expectations are high :-D)
One of the best coconut I drank.

Comfort food stop

After 3 weeks travelling and eating the local, traditional food, we were tired and in need of something familiar and a little stodgy. Hey Bong was perfect.

We had a couple of beers and burgers, followed by a dense chocolate cake with amazing ice cream and, finally, some pandan pancakes! Can't believe it's taken until now to find some but we were delighted that we did.

The burgers were perfect - tofu katsu - a slice of firm tofu with excellent breadcrumbing and lots of sauce. The Hey Bong burger was a great bean based patty, with more traditional pickle and burger sauce flavours. The alioli was outstanding.

The pancake was served warm with banana, fresh mango and a wonderful, thick syrup. This is a must order! The chocolate cake was a large slab of cocoa rich flavour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meals here and would go again if we were staying longer in Siam Reap.

****need to add! Because we were visiting Angkor Wat at sunrise, our accommodation provided fruit and coffee first thing, which is all we wanted at 4.30am. We asked Hey Bong to make us a tofu sandwich to take out for the following day. It was amazing! They packed the bread roll, sauces, salad and tofu separately, so we could construct it ourselves and avoid a soggy sandwich. It kept really well. 100% recommend the tofu sandwich!

Amazing - twice in two days!

So lovely, highly recommend. Had dinner and breakfast here in the space of two days. Food was great, waiting staff provided mosquito repellent in the evening, and would’ve gone back again if I’d had time!

You have to try this place!

We had this on the last night in Siem Reap, the food was amazing. I wish I had spotted this sooner in our trip. I am in Thailand now having tried lots of places and I still rate this as my favourite South East Asian Vegan restaurant!

Best Vegan Restaurant!

Came here multiple, multiple times over our 6 days in Siem Reap. Each time did not disappoint. Got the Cumin Tofu noodles, katsu tofu, cauliflower wings, katsu burger, oyster tropical burger, dumplings, tofu wrap, tofu ciabatta and the blueberry protein smoothie! All the food was delicious, staff very friendly and kind! A must visit restaurant when in Siem Reap.

So good!!

Such a great restaurant for any meal! SR doesn’t have many vegan options, but HeyBong makes up for it with its huge menu. Everything is so tasty and portions are generous. The atmosphere is also great with a nice outdoor seating area and friendly staff.

Pros: Huge menu, Large portions, Friendly staff

Good food and service

We really appreciated this vegan restaurant in the heart of Siem Reap.

Although our initial experience was disappointing because of the unpalatable wraps and a bland Teriyaki Tofu, and rather watery Num Banh Chok made up by a different evening chef, the rest of our dishes were excellent.

The Tom Yam dumplings were really delicious, also the Khmer Red Curry and the Num Banh Chok at lunch time was nice and spicy. We asked for the curries to be made spicy and not sweat and that really helped. The meat balls were a bit odd with a thick batter around something?

For the health conscious there are some nice smoothies and smoothie bowls.

Prices are modest as usual in Cambodia and the serving sizes generally very reasonable for the money. Highly recommend but choose a few dishes as some may be sub par.

Lovely courtyard restaurant

I would never have found this place without Happy Cow - it's tucked away on a little street - and is worth finding. Lots of lovely plant based choices - don't judge me for having a comfort food burger!

An oasis in a chaotic city

This is the only fully-vegan restaurant in Siem Reap. Serves a cosmopolitan menu that wouldn't feel out of place in downtown Seattle, but still offers some authentic veganized Asian and Khmer dishes. Dining space is lovely, shaded outdoors with fans. Prices are high compared to cheap local food, but quite affordable relative to the west. Food tastes delicious and is plated beautifully.

Good vegan food

I have been there a few times, for breakfast but also for dinner.
Food is good, prices are ok for Siem Reap and you can be sure that everything is vegan.
They have bowls, noodle and rice meals as well as cold pressed juices and desserts. Staff is friendly and they have many tables, you can also come easily in larger groups.

Pros: Breakfast Curry Soup , The pavillon where you can sit on pillows, Mushroom (tropical chicken) burger

Such a lovely little place!

We loved the choice of food, the staff were really friendly. I had the katsu curry which was lovely, my husband had the katsu burger! Our daughter also enjoyed her food.
The location was a little random for tourists compared to the others but well worth a visit. Our tuktuk was happy to collect us.

Pros: The courtyard is lovely , Varied menu , Different style of food
