7-11 is full of the viral fruit cream sandwiches and as a vegan, you can’t join in on that sweet, sweet Japan dessert.

I got the strawberry sandwich and a matcha latte.
A humbling experience trying to eat a cream sandwich on your own, but character building and tasty none the less.
Not a fan of matcha personally but I’m sure it’s a good one for those who like it.
The owner (I think) was serving behind the counter and was very kind and attentive.
10/10, go try the trend 🍓

We really wanted to try some sandos while in Tokyo. But none of the ones in the convenient stores are vegan. This fruit sando was exactly what we wanted it to be. All three of my kids (not all vegan) loved it as well. It’s light and sweet and the owner was super sweet too! It’s not a meal, but a light snack. I supper recommend.

I was so excited to try Hatoya's vegan fruit sandwich, as they're such a rare find in Japan. We got the strawberry one. While it's great to see this option, I found it a bit bland overall. The strawberries weren't quite ripe enough, and the whipped cream could have used a touch more sweetness.

I like how you can find vegan options of local foods, when travelling, so you do not feel like you miss out. It was great to sample a vegan strawberry sandwich whilst in Japan!

Wow, this was my first time trying a fruit sandwich and omg, it was incredible!! The bread was so fluffy, the fruit was fresh and sweet and the cream was delicious. The lady running the store eas so friendly. It's very messy to eat so make sure you have something to wipe your hands and mouth! 😆

The concept of fruit in sandwiches was not one I used to consider, but it worked nicely! There is a lot of fruit options, my partner and I both chose strawberry as it is in season in Japan. It was a bit messy, but very tasty!

Hatoya’s vegan fruit sandwiches are not only beautiful to look at but they’re also delicious! The cream inside is just out of this world! And the fruits are too! Went with a classic strawberry one, but already want to be back to try a different one soon 🍓🥝🍍 So happy to be able to try famous Japanese snacks completely cruelty free 🥹

If you are heading to asakusa shrine, it's worth dipping out to grab one of these. The cream is made from soy and was packed into the sandwich, I had the strawberry version which was delicious. There is limited seating but people left just as we arrived. I wouldn't go out of the way if you're not visiting the shrine (very busy and popular area) but it was a great sweet treat. Probably would've been even better with a coffee!

I was so surprised to find this right in the middle of Asakusa. Step away from the busy tourist area to grab a sandwich or two from this little gem. I choose the strawberry and kiwi as it was their number 1 seller. I loved them both!
