Nothing special - Edit
Cold room, we didn't really like the burger taste (too strong). We wouldn't come back again.

Happy indeed - Edit
Mi pareja y yo decidimos celebrar mi cumpleaños en este establecimiento atraídos por la "Munchie box". Nos gustó mucho aunque es demasiada comida para 2 personas, nos costó terminarla!

Absolutely incredible - Edit
Great pub, super interesting with lots of eclectic decor. Good vibes and friendly staff. I loved the options and vegan alternatives available. We got the option to try a bit of everything, which was more than enough for 2 people. I especially liked the wings and tofu fish fingers!

An incredible taste of UK food - Edit
My partner and I ordered the munch box (and struggled to finish it because it was so big). Such good value. It was also really nice to try a little bit of everything; wings, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, even vegan haggis! The Happy Fish was situated in an eclectic pub which also have £5 margaritas (yay!). The chef approached our table to make sure everything was alright, which we appreciated. It was great to connect with someone who shares vegan food with the world. They deserve all the support!!

Delicous - Edit
I had the munch box so that I could try all the different things. The haggis in particular was soo good. Loved the curry sauce, gravy and fried sausages as well. Tasty but not at all healthy.

Great place - Edit
Super nice atmosphere and good food. You order via whatsapp, which works great, and the service is pretty quick. I had to try the deep fried mars bar because I've never seen a vegan version of this Scottish classic and I am glad I tried it but it's something you have once and that's enough, good but veeeeery sweet. I really liked the place!

Unreal - Edit
Excellent for a great big dirty FEAST. The other reviews have said it all already - place is fab and quirky, staff are just BRILLIANT, and the food is absolutely filthy in the best way. They were so kind to our tired dog! We loved it!

Battered ‘faggis’ 😂👌 - Edit
This place is a must when in Edinburgh! £5 spicy Margs and huge portions of delicious vegan chippy! Me and my sister came in and instantly loved it, quirky little pub. We had the battered faggis and the tofish burger. We were both defeated but the server offered takeaway boxes. Service amazing, food amazing, atmosphere amazing!

Absolutely MUST 🌟 - Edit
The Happy Fish is not your usual chippy — it’s on a whole different level, and whether you’re vegan or not, you absolutely must try it 💚 Everything that comes out of their kitchen is outstanding. The tofishes are perfectly seasoned and crispy, the battered sausage is spot-on, and the battered ‘faggis’… WOW. It’s HUUUUGE — and somehow just as delicious as it is massive 🤤

If you’re in the mood for a sharp kick, grab some of their pickled onions…. they deliver a sour punch that’ll wake you right up 😅
The atmosphere is phenomenal — the staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and clearly love what they do. And for anyone who enjoys a good drink, their vegan-friendly cocktails are a massive bonus.
If you’re in Edinburgh and craving comfort vegan food done right, The Happy Fish should be at the top of your list. A total gem. 🌟✨

The best vegan fish and chips! - Edit
The best vegan fish and chips we have ever had (and we’ve had a few in our time!), and what better than to have it in the pub!

Fish! Chips! All vegan!! 💚 - Edit
We visited Edinburgh in Halloween season and entered this cool looking pub where we were invited right away to do some pumpkin carving competition while waiting for the food 🎃

Fish and chips - Edit

Great food, long wait - Edit
The food is separate to the pub which is a funky, eclectic place. You have to order via WhatsApp which was a bit annoying any took a while to get a response. The food then took ages and we had to message a few times to check. They said a fuse had gone and that’s why it took so long but only when the food finally arrived (no updates otherwise). They apologised and gave us a free sauce- choose a curry sauce to go with a battered funk fish supper. The portion size was big- too much for one person, for lunch anyway and good to share with maybe something else. It tasted really good

Happy Fish indeed! - Edit
I’ve been to the Dog House before but not eaten there. The surroundings and atmosphere is great. Was a bit worried about what the fish would be like after sampling No Catch in Brighton, which was unsurpassed in my experience. I went for the Lemon Sole. Ordering was a bit of a challenge - I don’t do WhatsApp- until a member of kitchen staff came out and took my order in person. The fish was really tasty, in perfect crispy batter and the chips were divine. Good sized portion, but the lemon wedge could have been bigger. I’d say it was as good as No Catch. Would definitely eat there again

Fantastic spot - Edit
Unique venue (pub not fully vegan but staff super accommodating and can advise on vegan drinks at the bar, they offer discounts for all sorts too... Hospitality workers, blue light card etc). Elliot who owns The Happy Fish is a great guy, 22 of us came to eat after the March for Animal Rights and he was super helpful, food was delicious and humongous portions. 100% recommend.

Cons: The pub isn't fully vegan but kitchen is rented to, The Happy Vegan which is a vegan company.

Pros: Smoked tofish, tofish, battered goodies., Crazy decorations in the pub, which are super cool, Battered Haggis of dreams.

Tasty fish n chips - Edit
We visited this venue to sate a fish n chip craving, and were very happy we did (although we probably could have shared a single serve between us - 2 pieces of ‘fish’ and a decent serve of chips meant we had plenty left over for round 2 the following day - cleverly served in a handy take away box). Loved the setting and staff were friendly, so highly recommend a visit when in Edinburgh.
