Walk in veg restaurant approaching luxury level, mostly reasonable dish prices

Family of four with teenagers enjoyed our dishes here. We avoided the high cost fancy mushroom dishes and went with vegan fish stew, some buns, and a couple veggie dishes. Was surprised total bill wasn't much (I think sub 300 RMB). We wanted to come back to sample more from their extensive menu, but ran out of time. Near walking street and hotels. Limited english, but friendly. Not sure they meet the Michelin standards they were showing on their banner, but very good.

Pros: Extensive menu, Spicy dishes, dumplings

Cons: Oily dishes, Limited english

So many nice things

Kung Pao, Pork sweet sour or Beijing Duck? I don’t even know which is my favorite anymore (I do, it’s the kung pao). Must visit when in Beijing

Okay food but overpriced

Based on the reviews on here we had very high hopes! We are sorry to say it does not live up to the hype, at least the day we visited (Friday around 1pm). The great thing is that everything is veggie/vegan so you can order whatever you like. But it was almost as though the flavours were too rich when they should have been more delicate, and the vegan duck we ordered was so greasy and oily in a crispy batter it was more like a UK style battered sausage! The mapo tofu dish was tasty and the sweet & sour ribs were nice, but nothing memorable. We went to a fine dining vegan restaurant in Nanjing with a similar menu last month, and were hoping this would be similar but sadly we would not return here. Sorry to be negative, just want to set expectations!

Muy bueno

Comida rica, raciones grandes como en Europa. Recomiendo el pato laqueado que para los que no comemos carne está muy bueno.

12/10 best food experience ever

We were lucky to have our hotel nearby, so after visiting it for the first time, we immediately went there another time because it was so delicious! In 15 days in China, this was by far the best food we had. It doesn't even matter what you order, everything is just amazing. Our favourite dish was the mock duck.

Chic vegetarian restaurant

This restaurant has 3 michelin stars. The food is tasty and if you like dishes with a lot of sauce you will be happy. The menu has a wide variety of dishes with many classical Chinese food (roasted duck, dumplings, etc...)

Huge disappointment

Was looking forward to a meal at this place due to the Michelin star but I found the food incredibly disappointing. Everything was so over salted that the only thing I could eat was the rice. I don’t know if they were having an off day but I would expect somewhere of this caliber to know how to season food correctly.

Great tasting!

Nice ambience. Has feel of an expensive restaurant but pricing is only slightly above average. Portions are huge though so it may be good to keep this in mind when ordering. Each dish is presented exquisitely and looks like real meat. Choose the ‘recommended items’ on the menu and you won’t go wrong

Confusing, but good

Firstly, the food was good. The menu was confusing as there was nothing that said "vegetarian, vegetable based or vegan," so I was confused when the items were labeled as just duck or beef. I asked the waiter if everything was vegetarian/vegan and he confirmed that it was (he used translate to speak to me). FYI for the foreigners interested, the bathrooms are traditional Chinese bathrooms where you squat (not strange as it's normal here).
With that being said, the reason I gave 4 stars was because the food wasn't mind-blowing. Maybe I didn't get the right items (they have a lot of options). After seeing the Michelin stars outside the restaurant, I expected more depth to the flavor.
We had dumplings, duck (waiter confirmed it's made from bean curd and oyster mushrooms), and the meat pie. All were good, but not worth going out of my way for. The portions are very filling. I recommend 2-3 dishes for 2 people.

Large vegan selection

There are so many vegan options, it's easy to get overwhelmed! We enjoyed everything we had and also liked the pleasantly calm atmosphere.

Delicious Food in a Calm Atmosphere

Visited Gongdelin around 4 PM on a weekday—the restaurant was quiet with only one other table, making it a peaceful spot for a late lunch.

Pros: Great food variety, Comfortable seating, Friendly staff

Cons: Confusing menu, Drink menu only in Chinese, Restroom okay

Excellent option

Wide variety of Chinese dishes. If there’s a meat/fish dish that you wish you could try, here’s the place to find its vegan counterpart. I highly recommend the “meat pie”. It was absolutely delicious (and inexpensive). Service was also good. I’ll be going back for sure!

Great selection

My son and I visited this place two days in a row because we liked it so much.

Both times we ordered 5-6 dishes between us and took half away in takeaway containers for our dinners. For 6 dishes it cost about 280 yuan.

Food is delicious. Really huge selection. It seemed most was vegan.

The restaurant is very easy to find and accurate on the map. You can type in the name in Didi, and taxi straight there.

A good option in the area!

We tried this chain in Shanghai and kept getting our breakfast bao's from there, so did the same here in Beijing! We ate here once and tried the Vegan duck pancakes (79 yuan) but for some reason they deep fried the vegan duck in a batter. The rest was nice though! We also ordered two mushroom noodles which was way bigger than expected for 12 yuan. And a portion of wontons which came with fifteen!!! Only 30 yuan. we were very full!

Typical Chinese food

I have lived in China for many years and to me this felts like a typical Chinese restaurant, even down to the types of dishes on the menu (which is in English and Chinese as well as having pictures), which just happened to be mock meat and fish. They are not trying to be anything other than what a normal Chinese person would expect, not foreigners or tourists. It felt so normal. It was not dirty or shabby, just not new or modern, nor trying to be. I can understand how some foreigners may think cold and unfriendly, but I did not thinks so….it just seemed normal; getting on with their jobs and not being in your face. Chinese staff do not hover around or ask you things such as if you are enjoying your meal or if you want anything else, you have to get their attentions.

Went at lunchtime and had to wait for a table ; did not mind as the food was good. Prices were not cheap but reasonable. It is not my favourite vegetarian place to eat in China, but worth it. Beijjng has more vegetarian eating options than where I live so I get excited by so much choice.

Pros: All vegetarian , Extensive , Traditional Chinese

Cons: Not many vegetable options

Great meal

Huge menu, huge portions. Ordered four dishes to share between 2 and couldn’t finish the last bits. Quick service and really tasty food. I am vegetarian when I travel, and vegan at home. I could not identify ANY milk or eggs in anything we ate today.

Memorable experience

I recently dined at Gong de Lin with a group of friends, and our experience was outstanding. The food was ordered for me, and every dish that arrived was a delightful surprise. The portions were more than generous, leaving us all fully satisfied by the end of the meal.

What truly stood out was the range of flavors and textures in each dish. From vibrant, tangy flavors to rich, savory notes, every bite was a new adventure. The presentation and variety made the meal feel like a culinary journey.

Although I can't comment on any language barriers, as I was with native speakers who handled all the communication, I can confidently say that some of the dishes we enjoyed have now made it onto my list of truly memorable foods. If you're looking for a place where the food speaks for itself, this is it. Highly recommended!

Weird veg options but edible

We were in search for a nearby veg restaurant so came here. It’s a very Chinese menu - lots of fake meat and fake seafood. Not a whole lot of vegetables. It was ok.

Good

We arrived maybe 20 minutes before closing so we had to pick our menu fast. We had the fern noodles, glazed lotus root stuffed with glutinous rice and a dish with okra, walnuts and a third veggie.

Pros: Could enter even when arriving late
