Probably won't return - Edit
Doesn't have anything specifically marked as vegan on the menu. Instead, it says all vegetarian mains can also be made vegan, which does make for a large potential selection. For the rest of the menu, you have to rely on allergy information.
Read moreA surprising number of the starters have milk in them, including some that don't usually. Also, their idea of veganizing can be disappointing; for instance, all mains come with naan, but instead of making vegan naan they just give you roti.
Had the south Indian mushroom dish, which tasted fine, but was clearly made from dried rather than fresh mushrooms.
All in all, a bit underwhelming quality-wise despite the large selection and vegan signs outside. Difficult not to compare with the other one across the street, where there is no vegan indication and a smaller selection, but better quality in my experience.

Avoid delivery - Edit
In my opinion Indian food is not made for delivery, but we did order delivery. The veg korma with parotta was okay, but the Gobi 65 arrived so mushy (instead of nice and crispy). I agree with the previous reviews on the spiciness. Prices are okay, portions are good. Maybe I will give it a second try on site.

Non-vegan sauce with my vegan meal - Edit
Lots of options in the menu say they can be made vegan upon request but actually can't be if you ask the waiting staff. I checked several times with the staff that one of the starters was vegan, and was assured it was, but when they brought it they told me it came with a non-vegan sauce so I just shouldn't eat the sauce. This utterly defeats the whole point of ordering a vegan dish to begin with!
Read moreThey earn one star back because I like their parotta with korma. Overall I would recommend going to the other Indian place directly opposite, which has a much better vegan offering.

... bei India haus. Aber einfach ein anderer Schwerpunkt. Auch sehr empfehlenswert. Die veganen Linsen-Donuts fand ich kreativ. Lecker und eher scharf.

Pleasantly different from the usual vegan Indian food that I know - Edit
The usual few vegan options I know from Indian restaurants bore me most of the time. Thus I was very pleased when my partner suggested this restaurant and I had many new options to try out. I think it’s their focus on South Indian cuisine.
Read moreI really liked the „lentil donuts“! Didn’ care much for the coconut dip though. There are a lot of vegan appetizers but only one main course. That one is incredibly creamy and appealing though.
Only drawback for me: I‘m really sensitive to spicy food and everything was at least a bit spicy, even the items that were not marked „pikant“‘or „spicy“. It’s probably not an issue for 98% of the people eating there but please be aware if you’re among the other 2% like me.
The delivery was supposed to take one hour (Saturday evening…) but I think it arrived even quicker and was still steaming hot!
I‘m happy with my order and when it comes to Indian cuisine I will definitely choose „Goa“ over the other options I tried before in Göttingen.

Fair prices, quick delivery - Edit
To be honest, there are better Indian restaurants in Göttingen. But the prices are fair, the delivery is fast, the vegan dishes are clearly highlighted, and the food is good.
