Delicious, cheap, filling, authentic - Edit
The address on happy cow is not very precise so search for “김면장” on your map app. When you walk in it smells quite fishy but you get used to it. The place feels very old school in a charming way like it hasn’t changed since the 80s. I asked for vegan and she pointed me to the vegan choices, just be sure to ask for no egg if you want it fully vegan. The portion was huge and was full of tasty vegetables, I got the avocado and it worked very well in the gimbap. Everything was fresh and crisp and homemade tasting. MThe whole thing was about 4 bucks which is a great deal I think. The only thing it was SO big it fell apart when you try to eat it with chopsticks. Maybe it’s better if you eat it with your hands. Highly recommend!

This is a great spot not to far of the main road . It’s small and quaint space. The owner is super nice and willing to point out the vegan options. I got the tofu kimbap and avocado kimbap they were both amazing. The portions are huge and the prices is way cheap!

They have three vegan gimbap (tofu, veggie, avocado) and I tried all three and they are yum! Lots of veggies really nicely flavoured. The biggest gimbap ive ever seen - they actually are huge!! About 5k won each so great price and one is enough for a meal. The woman asked if we wanted spicy or not. Make sure to bring cash.

They had three vegan options on the menu. I tried ordering all to try, three but the owner (maybe) insisted that they were big portions and I wouldn’t be able to eat them all, so I could only order one hahahha.

But that’s all Korean food so far, so I didn’t love it, but it was a good option if you’re hungry and a big portion. So if you don’t mind the sweetness it’s a great meal.

I ordered the veggie fried rice and avocado kimbap. It was absolutely delicious! The fried rice had a good variety of veggies and had a great wok hei to it. The kimbap was so huge I couldn't finish it and had to take the rest home. The owner made sure I was vegetarian before preparing it too. Good variety of veg options too including veggie kimbap, avocado kimbap, soy meat kimbap, tofu kimbap, veggie fried rice, and soy meat fried rice. I may return if able!

Read moreI got 3 different ones to try, and was not disappointed. The best was the avocado one, and the wasabi sauce was the best as well. Great to eat on the beach or on the go.

Enjoyed both the avocado and the tofu vegan options. However, the rolls are so giant that we were told to use plastic gloves to eat with instead of chopsticks. Mine fell apart easily. I prefer my kimbap smaller and tightly rolled.

Read moreExcellent kimbap place. It offers 3 vegan kimbaps to choose from. An avocado one, a spicy tofu one and one with bardock and sprouts. Run by a single woman with a tiny spot.
They were all delicious, and I must state that they were really big. We ordered all three, and we could hardly finish 2, and had to pack some of the third one.
I would say they are at least double the size of other kimbaps I tried, and it's a bit hard to take a whole piece in one bite, let alone grab them with chopsticks. Thankfully there are an abundance of plastic gloves to use to be able to eat with your hands.
The owner was super friendly, and so were the other customers. Just a great neighborhood style hangout place, to enjoy homemade and delicious kimbap. Very clean too.
The happy cow location is a bit off, you'll have to go to the other side of where the map shows. Just walk around the location, around the big building in the middle, until you find it. It's worth the search.
This place would get 5 stars if I could, because while there were only 3 options in the menu, they were simply just divine.

The kimbab was massive but not what I expected it to be. I would have liked it to be more traditional with radish and spinach. Otherwise it was alright except for some ginger sauce inside which I really didn't like. Payed 8000 for two massive rolls, rather a fair price.

Read moreI ordered 야채김밥 (vegetable kimbap) and it was good. The store is visited by locals and beside a market that sells a lot of 떡!! I’ll definitely order the 두부 one the next I come back to Busan.

I had the tofu kimbap, I asked to take out so I had it by the beach. It was simple and delicious, literally full of veggies! The portion was massive not like your average bite size kimbap so it's a bit messy to eat but worth it!

The Kimbap rolls are huge! I love the colorful and generous fillings. I wish I could try more dishes someday!
The snack shop is easy to overlook because it is rather inconspicuous. There are a couple of simple seatig options. The place is nothing fancy, very casual and humble. But food is good! ^^

The gimbap was really good😄I had the veggie and the tofu gimbap. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the tofu marinade but I'm sure that a lot of people would like it. The meat substitute was sold out when I was there so I sadly couldn't try it :(

Was glad to discover a kimbap place in Busan which has several solid vegan options (rather than just having to ask for one with the meat and egg removed like most places). The owner doesn’t speak much English but is kind and easily understands if you say you want the vegan option. The vegetable and avocado options are delicious, I wasn’t too keen on the meat alternative one (not sure exactly what it’s made from) but I think it was just because it tasted a bit too realistic. (I haven’t tried the tofu option) Very affordable too!
