Menu has changed and the food was just ok - Edit
Previous photos show more options and a different menu to the one we received. There was a bit of info at the beginning saying they had vegan dashi and the cold soba section mentioned vegan options were available, but the hot didn't and I couldn't see the tofu, tomato, or veg tempura options on the menu. They use the same fryer for everything. I had the zaru soba with vegan broth - it was ok, but I wouldn't have it again. My partner had the hot duck soba (she's not vegetarian) and found it ok also, but nothing special.

Vegan options not marked on menu - Edit
We were going to eat here for lunch but we saw on the menu that Vegan options no longer clearly marked
Read moreWe asked the server what vegan options they had and they said they can still do vegan options but it wasn't clear what was vegan and we didn't want to take the risk of dashi being used in soup.

Vegan aber nicht gut - Edit
Es gab vegane Optionen. Diejenige die ich ausgesucht habe hat nicht besonders lecker geschmeckt und war zudem recht teuer.

Our lifesaver on day 1 - Edit
Went there for dinner after we arrived jetlagged and exhausted from travelling. Food came out super fast and was really good with a couple vegan options. You may need to ask for the right menu as they don’t hand it over right away.

Ok - Edit
The broth tasted weird. I'm not sure it was vegetarian, but the soba and tempura were great. A bit expensive.

Cute soba spot in central Namba with vegan options - Edit
Genji-soba had a great menu with clearly labelled vegan options and staff who understood what was and wasn't vegan. We got the hot soba tempura (they currently cannot do cold vegan soba), and it was delicious! Definitely worth a visit if in Osaka and craving some noodles.

Good soba - Edit
Clearly marked vegan menu items. My friends and I hit this place after a long flight on a chilly night and it hit the spot. I got a vegan soba and veggie tempura and would recommend them.

Quick but low quality - Edit
Staff are friendly and service is quick, but it's expensive and low quality. The noodles didn't taste like soba and the vegetables had very little flavour.

Vegan soba at Osaka - Edit
Beautiful place to eat vegan soba and tempura (one of the only places to eat this in Osaka). Welcoming personnel and nice setting. A bit costy though

Cons: למנת הסובה הוספתי תבלינים כדי שלא תהיה מעט אנמית.

Excellent noodles and tempura - but expensive! - Edit
We really enjoyed our meal here - there are loads of dishes marked as vegan/veganisable. I had a soba noodle dish with veg tempura served with salt and matcha salt which was all delicious. Note though that the food here was very expensive compared to other places we’ve visited in Japan - around ¥6000 for the two of us including alcoholic drinks.

Yummy cold soba - Edit
Clearly marked vegan options. We had the cold soba with tempura and it was delicious! The tempura was quite heavy on the stomach though so maybe opt for something different unless you are super hungry.

Very clear & reassuring vegan options - Edit
The menu is so clear about how to veganize / make meals gluten-free, and the staff also makes sure to double check that they get exactly what you want. Other than that, it’s a traditional udon shop and the food was very good. Honestly, I felt that there were almost only vegans there, so I‘d love to see this place become a cruelty-free restaurant and go 100% vegan in the future!

Wonderful soba! - Edit
What a find! This place is adorable and the staff is so nice. A chef makes the soba right in front of you in a little booth (photos are allowed) and the noodles are so fresh and wonderful. I wanted the tofu soba but they were out of tofu skin so I got the tempura soba. It was nice variety. The broth for the soup is subtle but fairly complex. I enjoyed this place immensely.
