Vegan-Pionier in Wien - Edit

Taiwanese vegan food - Edit
I like that this is specifically Taiwanese cuisine because it is something slightly different and I didn’t know much about it before. The noodles with mock chicken were very nice and tasted fresh. The mock chicken didn’t really taste like chicken but I still really enjoyed it and it was very well spiced. Also cute that there is a little shop for some select Asian groceries.

Nice place :) - Edit
This place has a really nice atmosphere. I came here for a quick snack and had the veggie dumplings a ginger tea, which were both tasty. The prices are also really okay, not too expensive.
Read moreThe menu is a little too "mock meaty" for my taste, so i guess i would pick one of their asian veggie/tofu dishes if i came back :)
They also have a little selection of asian food like moji, instant noodles and frozen "meat" that you can buy inside the restaurant.
Pros: Inexpensive , Tasty, Nice atmosphere
Cons: Not all vegan

Amazing food - Edit
Some of the best noodles I've had outside of China. We didn't try the Austrian dishes, so can't say much about them. But the Kimchi noodle soup and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup were both amazing.

Classic in Vienna - Edit
One of the first places in Vienna to offer a wide selection of vegan food.

Definition of basic - Edit
It’s kind of a value question. The food is at best “ok,” so 12 euros for a small plate of mostly mushy cabbage (mind you, we’re in or near the cabbage center of the known universe) and a little mockmeat is pretty disappointing. If it were half the cost, then fine. If it consisted of a mix of nice, fresh vegetables then 12 euros would be fine.

Serves Honey - Edit
Cute place, but not fully vegan. All the food and menu items are vegan, but they offer honey in drinks for an extra fee. Exploiting bees, even for an extra cost/money is not ethical or vegan. The staff is friendly and they make “duck” tacos out of Jack fruit I believe. They also sell some imported goods inside.

Not great meat alternatives but very nice staff - Edit
My partner and I didn't like the meat alternatives, they had a really funny farty taste and there were flies in my partner's dish but the staff were very nice and gave us more of our delicious starter (dumplings) and only charged us for half of her dish

tasty 'meaty' dishes - Edit
this place offers some decent vegan options, especially if you're craving something ''meaty"😄they use loads of fake meats to create dishes such as cordon bleu or fried duck/chicken.

My Favorite in Vienna - Edit
I stayed in Vienna for 12 days and had the opportunity to go to a number of vegan places, and Formosa is by far my favorite. It's a super cute, small place with a tiny kitchen you can see into. I've been vegetarian for 13 years and the soy meat is my favorite I've ever had. The owner/server/cashier is a very kind, genuine person and I enjoyed interacting with him very much. Most of the vegan places I've been in Vienna have been pretty soulless and bougie but Formosa has heart!
