Another great find in Barcelona. The food was great, casual and very tasty. Service was friendly and efficient and the space looks new and modern. We had a great evening. We went on a Saturday night and it was busy with a small queue which didn’t take long so maybe consider booking. Overall a nice experience. Dog friendly too.

Had the “my vegan japanese girlfriend bowl” which tasted amazing, it’s a plate with jackfruit and black rice. And I also had the cheesecake, which is also gluten free, I loved it! Cute and cozy place, very friendly staff. I’ll definitely come back to try more dishes. #Veganuary

@flaxandkale.es has got to be the best, most inclusive, gender affirming business concept that we have ever come across. The parents of the current CEO started with the idea of living in “Paradise” everyday in Barcelona. Vegan items on the menu are marked with PB for plant based. We both had the pad thai which was very good. Will probably come back.

Healthy vegan food - Edit
We visited Flax & Kale multiple times during our stay in Barcelona due to the fantastic service, really beautiful location and decor and of course, the food. Very healthy vegan options and entire gluten free. Highly recommend if you want to go out for a fancy meal.

I love the vegan and gluten free pizza! The vegan 4 quesos is my favorite, next to JB. They have many delicious vegan options available and the place is very nice, too. All the desserts are vegan and gluten free and are so delicious.

We ate here twice during our stay in Barcelona and expected a lot from this place. It's a beautiful space and they had enough vegan options to choose from. The food was good, but it seems they constantly forgot the herbs (salt, pepper, spices. . . ). That made the food a bit doll.

Excepto un par de platos todo es vegano, y casi todo o todo sin gluten. No es barato pero el precio me parece justo para la calidad y la cantidad. Espectacular la pizza barcelona (la masa de todas las pizzas es increíble para set masa sin gluten) y el 3 texture chocolate cake.

We ate on the terrace - a beautiful setting with a huge WOW factor accompanied by excellent service and delicious vegan options. Some of the entrees enjoyed included vegan jackfruit tacos, Malaysian squash curry, and heart-shaped raviolis. All delicious, light, and tasty. Dessert included carrot cake, with a nice ginger infusion, and a doughnut and ice cream.

Read moreBut the food was good but getting close to mediocre.. it is the unfortunate case of when the description of the meals in the menu sounds better than the food tastes.
It was good, dont get me wrong, but for that price I would expect more flavour and some kind of kick. The pad thai was quite dry and almost no veggies (not very colourful) and the stuffed pasta portion was extremely small for 14€. If the flavours were more interesting, I would get the portions - this posh fancy vibe, but the food was not that well thought.
Well anyway it was good, we just expected more:)
Maybe it was just a weaker day in the kitchen. Might come again one day:)

It was great to have a fresh vegan meal after eating a lot of fried food while traveling. The nachos were only ok but still a much welcome relief on the road. Don’t skip the kombucha!
