Great spot - Edit
I had a bit of a disaster while pottering about in Chesterfield. I called this place at 4:15 PM to see if they had a table, only to learn they were open until 6 PM with hot food orders taken until 5. Under pressure, I went for the spicy pizza and wedges (over the phone) and jumped in a taxi.
Read moreLocated in a charming small town (or maybe a village), I was pleasantly surprised to find a veggie restaurant with such a spacious setup. It was quiet as they were close to closing, so I ordered a glass of red to go with my meal.
The wedges arrived first, followed quickly by the pizza, and I was shocked by the portions—huge! The wedges were fantastic and came with a sweet chili sauce that hit the spot. The pizza was unique, topped and a little spicy, and sometimes the unexpected just works—it was seriously Barry.
Big shoutout to the staff who took great care of me; I can’t thank them enough. If you’re visiting, keep in mind that portions are generous. It’s well-priced and offers great value, so consider sharing if you can!

Had a dinner date there and loved it 🌱 the food was sublime and the cherry lager was lush . We went back the next day for breakfast which was absolutely amazing quality but a little expensive. All the food we had was vegan

No longer vegan - Edit
Really disappointing that the restaurant is now serving eggs and dairy.
Read moreAlways had beeswax in the products in the shop so definitely odd.
The food was very tasty but expensive for what it was. A couple of months ago one of the waitresses hounded us for reviews, not sure if this was in anticipation for them selling out on vegan values. Also stated how supportive the community was of it being a vegan business, making it even more odd that they have now introduced dairy and eggs.
Also odd that is came on the same day as the only other vegan establishment in Chesterfield closing down.
Use to come really regularly and chose to support these over the other vegan business as I knew that was closing down and wanted to support what I thought would be the only vegan business in chesterfield.
Cons: No longer vegan, Pricey

It does seem a strange decision , we won't be going again.

NOT VEGAN - Edit
Advertised on their Facebook and instagram page 30/08/24 that they’re stating to sell dairy and eggs as from 01/09 due to popular demand. 😂😡

I saw this too so I've sent Happy Cow a helpful business update. It has now been changed to a Vegetarian establishment.

Hi, hopefully all updates accurate as of today! Our main menu remains plant based, however we now have some vegetarian options available.

What a gem - Edit
Whilst holidaying in the Peak District we did a very hilly bike ride just to eat here. It was totally worth the effort! We received a very warm welcome and were spoilt for choice for lunch dishes. The breakfasts look amazing but are only served until 11.45am. It didn't matter, though, as we could have had a choice of 2 soups, paninnis, moussaka, lots of different pizzas or salads. ALL VEGAN, and if you don't want a full meal, there is lots of tea, coffee, alcohol, soft drinks, cakes, and pastries. We had a moussaka and a jackfruit and mushroom paninni. The food was delicious and the portions very generous. There is not a great deal of vegan food in this area (outside of Sheffield) so we will definitely be back to support this lovely cafe. Oh and they are also open until 10pm on Saturday evenings.

Great breakfast - Edit
Really nice breakfast and dirty chai latte. We both had the Big Figaro - the husband isn’t keen on scrambled tofu (any not just here) but I thought it was delicious. Quick friendly service and managed to squeeze us in despite it being a busy Mother’s Day and we hadn’t booked.

Lovely, welcoming atmosphere, service was spot on and food excellent. We went for the shakshuka from the specials board and the pesto pizza, both delicious. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

We celebrated my mum-in-law's 90th birthday here, the food was incredible and the staff helped us to organise a very special occasion for Mum. The buffet was delicious, with something for everyone, we even had a picnic the next day with food they kindly boxed up that was left over. It's a lovely venue, dog friendly with lots of free parking, the staff are great and next time we are back in the area we shall be sure to visit again! Thank you!

Excellent! The food is gorgeous and the staff lovely. We had hot chocolates with cream and syrup, one mint and the other cherry. The cherry one tasted just like I remember Black Forest gateaux tasting! We had a pizza each and fries but had to take some pizza home as so filling. We finished with a slice of biscoff cake and berry Bakewell. So tasty. Will definitely be back again x.

Love it - Edit
We are lucky enough to have this on our doorstep and it's one of our favourite places ever. The food is always delicious, beautifully made and real effort is put into the menu. Steve is so creative and never fails to amaze us with his dishes. We have frequented here since they opened and will continue to do so. This is a must visit if you are in the area- vegan or not, you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful vegan restaurant. Had a mushroom pizza which was freshly made and was one of the best vegan Pizzas I've had. Tables a little cramped (and recommend one toward the back so other guests aren't jostling past) but a really great experience and definitely worth visiting.

Lovely little find. - Edit
Found this place after a 10 mile walk in the peaks. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly. They were happy to have our two dogs inside….. I had an iced caramel latte and a chocolate torte and my wife had an iced latte and a Victoria sponge and there were very nice. The coffee was of a very high standard…….. a very nice little find.

Hi, just so you know for next time theres more parking around the back of the building,, in addition to the 12/14 at the front which can sometimes be busy particularly around school pick up time. It’s also okay to park on the road at the front! Glad you enjoyed your visit x

Lovely bistro style venue, great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Cosy atmosphere and friendly service. Food is very good quality and cooked to a high standard, the chef is really talented. Great combination of flavours, fresh ingredients and interesting dishes. I’ve visited for breakfast, lunch and Sunday roast and all were delicious. One of my local favourites. Venue is dog friendly, free car parking outside.
