Good food and vibes

The Toefish is amazing, great alternative to the usual battered halummi. Funky music pumping, from the island of Martinique, gives a party atmosphere to the place.

Pros: Great food, Funky Caribbean music, Friendly staff

Cons: Food takes about half an hour to arrive

Nice, but could be improved

Really nice location on the South Bank. We sat outside and the tables and stuff seem a little run down (ours kept moving). I had to tofish and chips which was very good (especially the mushed peas!), but I have to agree that it was very expensive compared to more high-end restaurants.

Lots on the menu

A bit more expensive than I’m used to so we decided to share a pizza and fries.

Chips & To-fish were totally delish. The atmosphere both gives you the vibes of Southbank but without the obnoxious claustrophobia. Definitely coming back!!

Great place for visitors to London to try vegan fish and chips

Some of the best to-fish and chips I’ve ever had, in a casual and relaxed setting. Gabriel’s wharf is a cool place to visit, just off the south bank, and I would highly recommend it for any vegan visitors to London. It also has some interesting draft beers.

The main courses were fairly priced, but the drinks (especially the smoothies and coffees) extremely expensive.

Pros: Good food, Fun atmosphere , Interesting beers

Cons: Coffee and smoothies overpriced

Yummy chips

Just had chips, but they were yummy. Crunchy, nicely spiced and served tasty aïoli.

Friendly staff, nicely located on Gabriëls Wharf. Good vibe.

Average food - high prices

I’m glad this place is here but the prices are crazy for pretty average food. So food needs to be better or prices need to go down. Had the pizza which was yummy but was £18.50 and £6 for fries which were just cheap fries from a freezer pack. When you compare with typical price for vegan pizzas in nicer places which are about 2/3 of the price then it seems too high.

Great vegan only place.

Some very good choices. Pizzas, full English breakfast, smoothies. Large portions. It was a little expensive for what it was.

a must try

The tofu and chips thingy, their most famous dish, blew my mind. Made me start thinking about business ideas to spread it across the globe

Top-notch food made with real care

I had the tofish and chips, which was flavoursome and filling. My friend had the superfood salad, which was the most enormous bowl full of all kinds of tasty, nutritious and colourful ingredients. We also shared a portion of plantain with three lovely homemade sauces.

The chef, Charles, is a really nice guy, and is devoted to creating the best international vegan cuisine.

Also this is a nice relaxed place to sit outside on a warm day!

Pros: Tasty food, Generous portions, Relaxed atmosphere

Ok food, very pricey

As the title suggest, the food was fine but it was very expensive for what it was. The best thing was the aioli on the fish and chips. The nachos were a bit disappointing just because it seemed different then what was advertised, it said there was homemade nacho cheese and guacamole. It was just cut up avocado and store bought cheese.

Delicious Fish & Chips

It looked closed from the outside, but it was definitely worth going in. The staff were incredibly entertaining.

Super Salad

A totally plant based eatery in Gabriel Wharf (head to the back). All day breakfast, salads, no fish n chips etc. Good range of smoothies and cocktails. Had the super food salad that was packed with goodness and tasted fab with the seaweed adding an extra dimension.

Pros: Range of food and drinks, Taste, Healthy options

Cons: Music a little monotonous

Hidden gem

I was staying in the south bank and discovered this place in the adorable Gabriels Wharf market. So cute and charming. Right on the water. Staff was so friendly. Food was delicious. Servings were massive, I couldn’t even finish. Everything was really good

Filling and delicious

Fantastic food. It’s outside but there is an enclosed gazebo so we didn’t get cold. Food was served quickly and was very tasty. The staff were friendly.

Brilliant food! Totally recommend

We had the tofu and chips, the nachos (which are the best I’ve ever had, so flavourful and lots of veg!) and the waffles with ice cream. All of it was great😄

Nice tofish

Disappointing

Really disappointed, the fritters took a long time to be made and they were quite stodgy and not very nice.

Needs improving

I’m a big supporter of vegan places particularly small independents and I always try to be as fair and honest as possible about my experience and I hope if the owners of Fed by Plants read this they will take something constructive away. Service was so slow, polite but slow. I waited so long for my meal that I nearly walked out. The drink didn’t even arrive until half way through the meal that took so long to arrive itself. The chips were nice (bought in?) and the tartar sauce the nicest I’ve had in a long time. I appreciated that the mushy peas were garden peas and not marrow fat as per regular chippies but it was fridge cold. The tofu fish was inedible, I had about a quarter and couldn’t eat anymore. The green sludge that was pasted inside had no place on a plate. The batter was thick so crispy on the outside and soggy on the inside. If they only used a sheet of nori instead of the paste it would have been much better. When the juice eventually arrived it was room temperature and tasted watered down. I ate the chips and had half of the drink, left £25 poorer, still hungry and quite annoyed. I wish them luck, we need more vegan places but please do something about that “fish”.

Homemade and Delicious

If you’re looking for beyond meat or daiya cheese don’t come here. This is all homemade ingredients and man does it show. The food was so good. The cashew ricotta on the pizza was che magnifique. The tofish and chips was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The owner is so friendly. Will be coming here again at least one more time before we leave.

Pros: Homemade ingredients , Everything is fresh , Everything is vegan and delicious

Cons: I can’t eat everything in one sitting.
