Excellent, fresh food - great service, price and location - Edit
Called in here after a lunchtime film at the BFI - it's a short walk from all the arts centres on the South Bank, also including the National Theatre, Festival Hall and Hayward Gallery.
Read moreTwo of us had a tasty lunch (buckwheat waffles with roasted veg and grilled tofu for me and tofish and chips for him), plus a side of plantain and a glass of wine, and it all came to under £40 including a tip. Remarkable value for Central London these days. You can have a salad as a main course if you prefer. And the views are free.
If you went to Vegan Express in Garratt Lane, you'll recognise the chef.
Pros: Fresh, tasty vegan food, Friendly and efficient service, Great value for Central London
Cons: Wrap up warm (though there are heaters)

Unassuming place, amazing food - Edit
The kind of place that can afford to look a bit worn because the food tastes heavenly. It doesn't look as flashy as in big Restaurants, but the taste is just amazing. We had waffles. Plantain and a burrito and it was all really delicious! Also the owner was Really sympathetic

Delicious! - Edit
My boyfriend thought he wouldn’t be able to enjoy some of his childhood favorites-not cooked by us-when we visited London from the states. He was thrilled with his bangers and mash and I couldn’t get enough of the tofish and chips. Don’t miss out on this gem!

Amazing flavours - Edit
One of the only vegan places I could find anywhere in South Bank area.
Read moreKitchen usually closes at 9pm but phoning ahead will make sure they don't close early.
The photos on here can be a bit confusing as sometimes it looks like a market stall and other times a cafe - well it's kinda both! There are 3 tables for 2 inside but lots more outside.
Food was on point, proper natural vegan cooking.

Cons: Website doesn't work anymore , Hard to find unless you know where to look, Limited indoor seats so hope it doesn't rain

Great food - Edit
The food was freshly cooked and very good. They only have outdoor seating though so when it rained they squeezed a couple of tables inside. Probably best when the weather is good!

Great tof'ish and chips (fries) - Edit
The tofu is clearly tofu but the batter and other flavours really make it seem fishy.

Nice fastfood - Edit
I had a tofish and chips to go, because I really wanted to eat something like that my first time in England. It was located at the back of a nice square with some other restaurants and the cook was very friendly The tofish was tofu wrapped in nori and then fried in batter, and I did not really like those tastes.. But that is my personal taste. Also I did not feel very well after finishing the meal, I assume because of the amount of fat, but then again this is my own problem, I should have expected it to be so fat for a fried dish. The green pea dip was a nice twist to balance the fat a bit. In conclusion still 5 stars for the tofish and chips if you like nori and fat fast food :)
