Big Bad Vegan

Was expecting to be disappointed as I wanted a vegan breakfast. The food was good and I ordered the Smokey beans as a side as recommended by a previous review which was a great tip. Would recommend if you want an alternative brekkie.

Hangry march through town

Not much choice in Whitstable for people who love animals. This place was quite friendly. I had the falafel which was in fact really tasty!

Pros: Available, VG dishes marked

Cons: Hobson's choice, Extra charge for non-dairy milk 😡, £3.50 for a 250 ml tinned drink.

F&H

Venue
A nice, light space. Seating inside on the ground floor and first floor and also outside the back I believe.

Service
The lady that took our order was absolutely lovely. The young lady that took payment and we said thank you and goodbye to, not so much. A bad day for her maybe.

Food
I got the falafel. Two BIG falafels, nicely cooked and great flavour sitting on a seasoning with some greens. Definitely not enough to fill me up but nice nonetheless.

Price
Just over £30 for two mains. I know costs are high, especially for an independent place in a good location but this was pricey for what we had.

Decent

The breakfast burger "Big Bad Vegan" tasted good, a little small, doesn't come with any sides so didn't really fill my greedy stomach.

Pros: Cute, Dog Friendly, Welcoming

Cons: Small serving

Best vegan breakfast option is town

I went for breakfast and got the "Big Bad Vegan" and a redbush tea with soya milk (oat milk also available)
The food was lovely but a little underwhelming given the description on the menu, I would have added a side of vegan smokey beans if I'd known what it would be like.
It was fresh and well cooked, would try again! The menu is clearly marked which was helpful.
However the hot drinks were served in plastic cups which was a no for me - they gave my tea a funny taste

Would need to book for bigger groups at peak times

Pros: A few options, Fresh, Affordable - especially drinks

Cons: Plastic cups
