In recent times, my last few forays into the world of Levantine cuisine haven’t been as successful as I had hoped. But, ever the optimist, I thought I’d give this establishment a shot. Once again proving that a positive disposition will get you far, I unearthed a rather excellent spot- one that not only served up tasty food, but that also did so in ample portions for a more than reasonable price
Read moreToo often I have been burnt when the allure of a foul sandwich has left me with nothing but regret and a peculiar aftertaste; there were no such issues here. In fact, it wasn’t just this item that impressed. You’d be forgiven at first glance for thinking that falafel were going to be woeful (as I did), but looks were very much deceiving in this case - these were wonderfully crispy yet still remarkably moist. The other sandwiches also delicious, the French fries were decent, and the mixed fries plate was antithesis of healthy - much to my gluttonous delight. The best, and perhaps most surprising dish I had though was the galayeh tomato. It arrived at an ungodly temperature, but despite the risk of severe burns, I couldn’t resist submerging piece after piece of ample bread supply I’d been lavished with. The depth of flavour was truly marvellous and texturally it was full-bodied.
I can easily see myself ordering from here again, it’s a true bargain given the satisfaction it gives.
