Convenient vegan packed food on the go!

A variety to choose from - I ended up buying more than I needed just because I wanted to try the food! I bought a bento lunch box, sandwich and cookie (all vegan) and they were all tasty. The bento box in particular was beautifully presented as well as tasty. About half the items stocked in the shop are non-vegan (contain fish and meat etc) but the vegan options are numerous and varied, so just be aware and take care when buying! Will definitely go there again for vegan takeout when passing through Hakata.

Pros: location - good for travellers, tasty, plenty of vegan options

Cons: none

Good takeaway food in heart of Fukuoka

Right where it was supposed to be in the Amu Est shopping part of the station on the ground floor . Entering the station from the main concourse side (north), it is about ¾ of the way through to the other side. It is in a row of food shops and on one side is opposite Mr Donut. Over half the counter display area is allocated to vegan meals. The other half contained seafood. Vegan offering was diverse and both tasty and nutritionally well-balanced. Particularly recommend the wraps and any of the bento boxes containing an array of small dishes. If you’re there at the right time you can also buy extra rice in case you are hungry. Prices good too. Only drawback is all the packaging waste created.

Pros: Convenient location if travelling, Good tasty food still well presented, Prices reasonable

Cons: The packaging waste created

DELICIOUS

I'm in shock that 1) this place exists and 2) what I ate here was vegan. Beautiful. And affordable

difficult to find. but worth seeking out

Lovely little kiosk really really difficult to find from google or the reviews so these are the directions:
Go to Hakata station on east side. It is on ground floor, not basement. Hakata station Chikushi Gate, then go in to Amu Est shopping area. Is it opposite Mr Donut. Lots of choice.

I came back today 14/5/25 and I used the same directions and was pleased to see it was still there.

conveniently located all vegan deli

We purchase their deli items approximately biweekly. I know I should be thankful for having a vegetarian/vegan deli as an option, but I would love to see more variety in their menu items. Their deep fried soy meat (fake fried chicken) is my personal favorite.

Pros: menu doesn't change very frequently

Cons: everything is vegan, multiple locations in the city

I dream about these bento boxes

It took me a long time to find Evah in Hakata station the first time, but it was fast the next few times. There are various vegan bento boxes of different sizes, along with some baked goods. Great for taking with you on the train!

This is a small stand, so you can just pick what box(es) you want and pay for them. No Japanese is no problem unless you have specific questions.

Pros: Delicious bento boxes, all vegan, quick and easy

Cons: n/a

Perfect.

A little tricky to find, but it's obvious when following other reviewers instructions.
The food was great, the selection was great, the flavours were great and the value for money was fantastic!
They only do bento boxes and the like, so no good if you want a sit-down meal, but that's not their focus, but is useful information if you don't know.

Pros: Location, food, offer and value for money.

Cons: Not many drinks available, but there are plenty of

A great little surprise

So I arrive in Fukuoka after a four hour bus ride and I'm tired and starving and the only thing more frustrating than being a vegan in Japan is being vegan and lactose intolerant. So all I can say is thank the lord for this little bento box stall in the station... I'm not a huge fan of bento boxes but these ones I'd be happy to eat time and time again. I think they are very appealing as they look almost the same as a standard bento box so I feel even non vegans would enjoy them. I only wish there was little shop like this back in Kagawa where I live.

Pros: Presented like a standard bento box, Affordable , Tasty

Enjoy the variety!

Evah's lunch boxes were the only real meals I had during my vacation in Fukuoka. It is located in Hakata station, and has a variety of vegan menus like brown rice, fried rice or seasoned rice with scrumptious veggies, side dishes and fried meat substitutes on the side as well as sweet muffins and fresh burgers. All employees there were very kind and helping to make my experiences and memories more pleasant. Also, all the dishes I had were really fresh, neat and tasty. The prices approximately range from 4,000 yen to 8,000 yen, which are very reasonable and affordable. I'll definitely visit the place again when I go on a trip to Fukuoka.

Pros: fresh ingredients, tasty side dishes, conveniency and affordability

Cons: no seats available which is not their fault, a bit fatty, language barrier

Vegan bento, great range

The stall is just off the main statio concourse, near the Shinkansen, in a building/arcade called Amu Est. They have a large range of different boxes. I don't speak Japanese so didn't really know what I would be eating each time, but I loved being able to come here and just grab a box without worrying, particularly as Fukuoka is a difficult place to find veggie options. It's really cheap, too, and everything I've had was tasty. They're packaged in clear-lidded containers so you can see what you're getting, even if you don't know exactly what it is. They also seem to do some pretty steep discounts if you arrive just before closing, eg all boxes for Y300.

Don't miss it!

Small stall inside the Hakata station, next to the Shinkansen entrance (Central gate). The food was very good. I also had some muffins, which were delicious. As it was getting late, some of the dishes were discounted so it was a real bargain!

To find the place, go in the JR main hall. Then from the Chikushi gate (East exit), head in the direction of the Hakata gate (West exit). You'll quickly find the AMU EST area, very close to the East exit, not far from the information center. Evah Dining Macrobiotic is right behind Mister Donut.

Pros: Very nice staff, Healthy food, Quick service

Cons: Not easy to find in the station

Great bentos

Great bentos to take away. If you are in Hiroshima and have a JR pass, you should come to Fukuoka (Hakata) and have breakfast here, visit the excellent Asian Art Museum (closed on Wednesdays), have lunch at their branch inside the Hakata Riverain Mall and take some bentos for dinner. The food is so good that it makes the 68 min train ride worthwhile.

Location: from Chikushi Gate, walk straight a few meters and look for the Mister Donut on your left. Evah Dining is just in front, slightly on the left.

Pros: Vegan, Location, Opening hours

Super cute vegan bentos!

It took us a little while to find this beauty as their is food everywhere in the station, however once we did I was so chipper! Loads of different bento boxes with mock meats and different salads as well as packed with rice. We were yet to find any vego or vegan bento boxes so was so excited to eat these.

My boyfriend and I got two each as we hadn't eaten all day - one would have definitely sufficed as they are quite filling. Each had loads of different goodies and each thing was delicious! Definitely go here and grab yourself a box! They did do baked goods but we went late in the afternoon so they were sold out by then. I'd suggest go early if you would like to grab something like that.

If you enter from the Chisou Gate (? I can't quite remember the name) and walk straight until you see all the little bento stalls on the right, it's after the first stall but facing inwards. Just look for the sign, it's written in english!

nice and fully vegan :)

It's often hard in Japan to find food of which you can be absolutely sure it's vegan, so it's quite nice to find a place that actually mentions it in written form. It's a small place in Hakata station, but still there's choice.

I had a mixed menu with 9 mini-dishes, all of which were quite good :) so great!

Pros: very nice service, good taste

Cons: a bit lost in Hakata Station

super convenient

picked up lunch here to take home after a long shinkansen journey. i paid about ¥800 for some tea and a mixed bento box with all kinds of vegan goodies including a croquette and something along the lines of fried soy chicken with three kinds of brown rice, which i thought was fairly cheap for the quality. highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Yummy Bentos

My partner and I left our camera on a shinkensen in Hiroshima and had to travel to Hakata to retrieve it and were very pleasantly surprised to find a vegan place only metres away from the station! We had to buy not one but three bento boxes, vegan bread, a muffin and two sets of biscuits! All were very yummy and we would definitely go again. It was so nice to have vegan bread as well!

Pros: convenient location , yummy lunches

Cons: no where to sit down

Bento boxes for take-out

I went to this deli today because I really wanted a baked product (like a muffin or a cookie) and I was a little disappointed because, despite other reviews citing these products are here, they are not.

However, they have a good selection of prepacked lunches (bentoboxes) that are super convenient and I’ll be returning there tomorrow for one of those. :)

Great bento boxes

I passed through this railway station twice to get a train and grabbed a bento box and some sweets (cupcakes) each time and one night I even popped down here from my hotel and picked up the same food for dinner to take back to my hotel. Oh, and I got another Bento box from here to take on the ferry to Busan, South Korea (otherwise i would have gone hungry on that boat!). I'd call this food moderately priced rather than inexpensive. There was quite a selection to choose from and the several items that I sampled were all delicious. I turned up late one night just before 7pm and nearly everything was gone from the vegan cabinet so get in early if you can!! The vegan section is on the left!

Pros: Central location, Good value, Tasty, good variety

Amazing vegan bento to go !

It was a miracle I found this this place! Ideal to gar just before catching a bullet train (Shinkansen) or eat at your hotel. So happy to find this place!! Wish they'd have a branch in my city, Osaka!
