WTF.. - Edit
I had Bagels before. Not that many, but some. But those bagels blew my mind. Srsly! We stayed 5 nights in NYC and on 3 mornings we went to E-A-B. I would have dined in every day, but, we had to try some more stuff. Awesome. I wish they would open a franchise in some big cities in germany with the same concept, i guess the lines would be even larger than those beyond 7am in NYC. (simply bc NYC has a lot more bagel-selling stores around).

Vegan cream cheese convert?? - Edit
Before having this bagel, I was a hard cut anti-vegan cream cheese vegan. I had tried others and thought they were all gross!
Read moreThis was amazing though! They had so so many sweet and savory options of tofu spreads. I went with veggie. All their bagels are vegan (one has honey though). I settled on an everything whole wheat. Some toppings (lettuce onion etc) are free, too.
Great fruit and coffee too😄staff are very friendly. I recommend ordering before hand online to beat the crowds!
Pros: Friendly staff, So many vegan options and vegan milk, Huge bagel sandwich was under 10$
Cons: Can be a bit busy—order online

Very good bagels - Edit
This place is a must for vegan bagels!
Read moreThey have cream tofu with sun dried tomato, chives and a couple of other flavors and it's seriously tasty. Also peanut butter and jelly is available with two flavors (grape and strawberry).
The best part is the service. All the employees are super friendly and even tho it gets incredibly crowded, it's worth the wait.
A quick tip: you can order online and they'll tell you when to pick it up according to the current waiting time. This way you don't have to stand in line.
Pros: Vegan cream tofu, All the bagels themselves are vegan, Friendly staff
Cons: none

Awesome - Edit
Hand-rolled, great tasting bagels, plus many tofu-based vegan spread options. Yes, there’s a line but it moves pretty fast. Good attention to vegan detail by fun counter staff.

Would give 5 stars if possible. Best bagels ever, eat here everyday for breakfast when I’m in New York. Come before 9 to skip the line.

If there's a line...stand in it anyway - Edit
Headed here early on a Sunday and there was already a line waiting. Within 30 seconds, the line behind me grew exponentially. As this place is popular, it was very crowded so I never got a chance to ask if there bagels were vegan (some places may add honey, etc). However, I had an everything bagel with herbes tofu cream cheese and it was so good that I questioned why I no longer live in NYC.
Read moreTIP: if you're not going to eat in, there is a shorter line (for ez access to this, enter through the exit door and hop in the 'express line').
Pros: large and tasty bagels, offer more than just bagels, very friendly staff (even at their busiest)
Cons: dine-in line can be long

they knew we were coming - Edit
my family and i are here in new york city and we have a tradition of always eating the famous new york bagels for breakfast. in previous years, we would just go to whatever place was nearest the hotel and get 4 bagels and cream cheese. My dad found this place that had a wide selection of vegan bagels and tofu spreads only 10 short blocks from our hotel. this could not have worked out better!
Read moreToday I tried the whole grain everything bagel with sun-dried tomato tofu spread and it tasted amazing. my expectations were blown away. keep in mind that this place is very popular and tends to be crowded with a long line, especially in the morning/breakfast time.
Pros: delicious, close to hotel

worth the wait! - Edit
Every time you go there will inevitably be a long line that you will feel you will never get to the end of before you die of hunger. Don't worry, friend. It moves fast and you will be there soon! They have about 5 different tofu cream cheeses to choose from- the scallion is great! Toasted bagels plus these are amazing. This place knows what it's doing and you get a real feel for authentic NYC bagels here.

Traditional NY bagel - Edit
it's great to try this famous food in the Big Apple offered with different tofu creams. bagels are good size for the price. the problem is the rudeness of the staff: it is apparently quite common in NY, but reached the top here...

Ess-A-Bagel - Edit
I've never had a bagel so amazing in my life! And to top it off, Ess-A-Bagel has 8 tofu cream options for either vegans or the lactose intolerant. The line can get long here, but trust me, you will be happy you waited! The bagels are dense and chewy and the flavorings are amazing. The vegetable tofu cream cheese was very tasty and complemented my everything bagel well. Had I found out about this place earlier during my trip, I would have demanded to eat here twice a day, it's that good. Do yourself a favor and get yourself an Ess-A-Bagel!
