Good - Edit
I like this place and would stop by if in the area. There are other places in the city that I like better, though, especially since it's a bit on the pricey end.

Could be better - Edit
I used to love this place when it was called baby cakes, their donuts were amazing and moist but lately they have been a bit milly, drier than I remember, the staff is very nice and diverse but the clientele is mostly annoying white people who are either dieting or gluten free.

Fantastic Pumpkin Pie - Edit
Chocolate Chip cookies were great too. I ordered these for Thanksgiving and my non-vegan family loved both. Looking forward to trying more goodies here.

My Favorite NYC Vegan Bakery - Edit
I actually feel pain inside when I think about the fact that I can't eat Erin McKenna's treats whenever I want, lol (since I don't live in NYC). It's a must-go for anyone visiting the city! The baked goods are just so, so delicious. The cakes are moist, the cookies are soft and buttery, and their icing is unique to any vegan icing I've ever had - my mouth is honestly watering at the thought of it! You can't go wrong with anything you choose, but my favorite item is the cookie sandwich. Truly a gem of a bakery!!

Sweet-toothed all-vegan bakery - Edit
Erin McKenna's Bakery is a shrine to sugary breads of all sorts, mostly in the donut queendom, and numerous cousin species. The ones they call "churros" here, though they bear only the vaguest similarity, are tasty in their own right.
Read moreMy wish, which admittedly is perhaps a bit of sacrilege in this temple, would be for a selection of offerings with less (or no?) sugar.
But if sweet vegan baked goods are what you seek, here you'll find them! Enjoy!

Could be a lot better - Edit
Concept is really cool and I appreciate that they are gluten and nut free. The decor inside and outside the shop is super cute. But, the girl that was ringing me out, immediately went on her phone in front of me; and I just felt as though that was a bit rude.
Read moreNow onto the food. I had the vanilla strawberry cake slice as well as the mint brownie cupcake. The frosting on both was way too sweet. The inside of the vanilla cake over all had a good flavor, but was very dry. The inside of the chocolate cupcake was also very dry and not very flavorful. Was hoping for a lot better to be honest😒especially for paying nearly $5 for each.
Pros: Gluten and nut free vegan options
Cons: Expensive , Too sweet

Delicious vegan baked goods - Edit
We absolutely loved this bakery. The cupcakes and donuts were so delicious and the staff were very friendly. The consistency is obviously quite a bit different than traditional non-vegan baked goods, but I honestly prefer the way they baked them here. They are pricey but I would definitely still go again.

A five star vegan bakery hands down - Edit
A five star bakery hands down. First, it was my first time in an all-vegan bakery. The mere fact that I can choose anything I see was awesome. The variety was good, they didn’t have all the pastries showed on their web site but that’s perfectly reasonable considering we were there in the afternoon.
Read moreThe service was very kind and helpful - we were given recommendations, advice on how to keep the cakes and all with a smile - something not very common in NY.
The cakes: they were awesome. We tried several cupcakes, coconut mounds and a few more. It felt like “the real thing” and not as a compromise for keeping it vegan. They were all good, tasty, fresh and cruelty free.
If you’re looking for some vegan indulgence- this is the place for you

Best pumkin chocolate chip cake ever - Edit
If I hadn’t read about this place on happy cow I would have just walked by because it is really tiny. Luckily I didn’t! My mom, usually a hard critic - was blown away by their banana cake (which she usually doesn’t like that much). I would have loved to sit down while enjoying my cake but given the amount of space inside, a bench in the park worked just as well as a seating opportunity

Amazing red velvet vegan cupcake :) - Edit
Whoa. Tried the red velvet cupcake and it was the best (vegan) cupcake I've tasted! Savoured each bite. Wish I could have tried more. So tasty, and not too sweet like I have found with other cupcakes in the US.

Still terrific after all these years... - Edit
Recently re-visited here on an trip to the nearby Moo Shoes store. Small but wonderful, this trail blazing outpost of vegan-gluten free baking still delivers consistently good wares. The classics are all there: iced cupcakes, cookies, doughtnuts... along with innovations like the apple-cinnamon churro I had (soooooo worth the calories). This is still the overall best place for GF vegan goodies in Manhattan.

Vegan doughnut heaven - Edit
I visited here last summer and I was pretty impressed by the variety of baked goods on offer! :) Had a cupcake which was good but did go a little crumbly and dry in transit, but I ate the doughnut pretty much on the spot and I absolutely loved it, can't say it was like a conventional doughnut you'd get from the supermarket etc, but I was impressed by the taste and the texture, although not as soft it just worked as what it was, I'd recommend a visit if you're round the are, though it seems like it's in an odd location, on a block with no other restaurants, but the shop front did stand out! :)
