Healthy, expensive “cafeteria” food - Edit
Elephant Vine markets itself as a bright, clean, modern plant-based self-service joint. The aesthetics are certainly nice. The food, however, is rather basic... At least the southern comfort bowl.
Read moreI was expecting it to have more kick, grease, and dark greens, but instead it was several scoops of veggies and lightly seasoned tofu on top of slightly dehydrated chopped romaine… like cafeteria food.
I’m glad it exists, just wish the food was more memorable for the price.

Socal wrap - yuck, cauliflower was really done and thick batter, was boring, ate 1/2 :p
Brussel sprouts - crispy parts were good, didn’t like the sauce, was filling, meh

Sooo very mixish reviews - 1 of 3 of us would go back. Ironically it was the non vegan😉

This is my absolute favorite quick service restaurant in the heart of Evanston! The food is delicious and the fact that it’s all vegan is a bonus! A fresh, smart, eatery with an awesome, cheerful staff. I highly recommend.

Beautiful, bright, clean and cheery place for quick vegan fare. They have the dynamite cauli-wings that Spirit Elephant has, but I didn’t at all care for the Niçoise salad. I love Fork Over Knives “no tuna” salad recipe, and this tuna simply didn’t appeal to me. Regardless, I’ll definitely be back to try other things.

Decent Vegan Fast Food - Edit
Almost every menu option included some type of “meat” such as impossible burger or Chik’n which was slightly disappointing. It showed they are still catering to people who want to eat burgers and wings rather than true plant-based foods and recipes. I had the Niçoise salad which was pretty good. Made with “tuna” salad. It’s definitely geared towards college kids and for people that want to pick up something fast. Not really anything special.

Love this place for a warm (or cold) vegan meal. Their buffalo bowl was amazing. I brought my non-vegan colleague and she loved her nicoise salad. She wants to know when we can come again. Love this place... Could eat there every day if it was closer.

I think I have been here every day since they opened and have never had a bad meal! My faves have been any of the burgers and regular fries, ALL of the shakes, the green tropics smoothie and the Niçoise salad. I am usually too busy devouring everything but here are a few that have made it to pics…

Brand new vegan fast casual restaurant - Edit
They just opened a few days ago so they are likely still working out the kinks. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant (and bathrooms!) was clean despite being steadily busy. The Kale Caesar tasted fantastic, just wish there was more kale! Cauliflower wings are great and same quality as their upscale restaurant Spirit Elephant. We had two orders though, and only one had the carrots/celery and side of ranch. Baja burger was tasty, just a bit on the dry side because it was so well done. Sweet potato fries weren't worth the price - good flavor but luke warm and limp.
