So good and such good value! - Edit
Clean, tasty, and really good value. We had the Spicy tofu (which wasn’t too spicy, fear not) and the Com Tam, both very good!

Decent 100% local vegan spot - Edit
Another Ching Hai establishment like Loving Hut. We go here pretty often because it is 1. all vegan, 2. nearby and 3. because it has decent food. The food is delicious, especially the pho, spring rolls and vermicelli bowls, but sometimes the soups are not as hot as they could be. But it is mainly run by elderly people and their son I think, so I can look past this. It would also be good if they added chilli to add on the side. The price is average for Melbourne.

Amazing vegan food for a really affordable price. Loved the vegan meats, especially the chicken. Also the pho was really tasty.

Wasn't bad but wasn't mind blowing either - Edit
We finally found Loving Hut after it moved ages ago, but unluckily for us, they didn't have any gas supply. This meant they couldn't cook, and we needed to find somewhere else to eat. Not too far away was this eatery. I ordered a tofu satay and rice, and my partner ordered the traditional pho bowl. The satay ended up being pretty much a big plate of tofu and some veg - cooked well but not that interesting. The pho was good (says my partner).

All vegan, ok meals - Edit
An all vegan Vietnamese restaurant which is fantastic, the meals were ok.
Read moreI had the Beyond Pho, I would recommend the Traditional Pho instead. They’re the same except for a whole Beyond Beef patty in the soup🤨?
Vietnamese quisine also usually has numerous gluten free options, unfortunately Easy Vegan does not have many. My wife had the Crispy Tofu which was light on for flavour.

Tasty confusion - Edit
Ordered two mains and two rice dishes to take away, and ended up with 11 containers instead of 4. There were various sauces, noodles and whatnot and I had no idea what went where. But since everything is 100% vegan it wasn't really an issue. Also according to the menu the order total should've been $75 but they only charged me $66 (again, not an issue).

Cảm ơn for the good food. - Edit
I am a big fan of any kinds of Viet noodle soups as they are quite popular back home in Thailand. Felt so blessed to have found Easy Vegan because all the noodle soups taste so good (haved tried all), very refreshing and always come in generous portion. Most importantly, no chance of the cross-contamination from animal products in my food as they are 100% vegan🤍 My fav is Dill Fish Noodle Soup.

Nice spicy noodle soup - Edit
For the first stop on my Melbourne vegan food tour I decided to go with Vietnamese food. I ordered my usual, spicy noodle soup, along with some fried rolls. The noodle soup was good with a tasty assortment of mock meats.

Straightforward place with friendly staff in a rough neighbourhood - Edit
The place is close to tram stops and easy to get to by taking trams 12 or 109. The area looks a bit rough with graffiti everywhere. The restaurant is quite small and has the option for dining in as well as take away. It you dine in, because the place is small, you don't get much privacy. Others are likely to hear your conversations. Noise is somewhat drowned out by the TV which was playing Supreme Master TV. This restaurant seems to promote the Supreme Master cult, which promotes veganism. As such it is a cult I would happily support.
Read moreThe staff here seem very nice and keen to serve you. I ate the beyond pho and it was very nice and full of flavour. I look forward to trying more food on the menu another time.

Thanks for the research, guys 👍 All this about this cult supporting Trump or being anti-abortion is news to me.

Great value and delicious - Edit
I came here with a vegan group for dinner. I wasn’t sure what to order but decided on the custard apple smoothie and the v-chick satay noodle bowl. The custard apple smoothie was delicious. Nice flavour and not too sweet. I was beginning to regret not ordering an entree but then my bowl came out and it was huge! The v-chick pieces were generous and I thought the balance between noodles and vegetables was good. It comes with a broth which I enjoyed. Very good value and nice staff.

Good vegan Vietnamese - Edit
Have been here a couple of times now, today we got the broken rice again and it's SO good, the pork and egg is delicious. The pork is the same as in the grilled pork noodle bowl, which is another favourite, and has a great mix of fresh greens.
Read moreThe broken rice comes with a little bowl of soup, which was very garlicky and tasty.
Today we also had the beyond pho, which has a delish traditional light broth (although I couldn't detect star anise which is very important in pho), there was a bit too much meat, and I realised I'm not a huge fan of the beyond beef. Also strangely, there was no hoisin sauce served with the pho. I still very much enjoyed it though.
The lemongrass tofu rice paper rolls were FRESH and good (couldn't taste any lemongrass though), and I will be back to try the prawn rice paper rolls.
Also, everything is SUPER affordable here. For two mains and an entree, we paid $46.76.
25/4/23 - came back and ordered the stir fried rice noodles which was a little bit lacking in sauce, and had a bit of a chilli/sweet chilli sauce taste which I didn't like or expect. Also got the salt and pepper tofu which is probably the worst S+P I've ever had. It was just fried tofu, no batter, no salt or pepper. Have deducted a star.
The prawn rice paper rolls were really good and fresh.

Pros: Fresh ingredients and freshly made delicious food, Very affordable

Quick easy vegan - Edit
Went in today for lunch, the food came out so quickly. Had the vegan prawn rice paper rolls, vermicelli with chicken and fried rice. Have to say they vermicelli with chicken was a stand out. Good place if you’re into vegan mock meats. The vegan prawn rice paper rolls were yummy, and didn’t have a fishy taste like some other mock prawns.

Less than peaceful - Edit
Went in for lunch alone at 1.30pm on a Friday.
Read moreRestaurant had a few tables dining in.
One heavy-set young Asian guy sitting with his mum (with their back to me) was watching an action movie at full volume on his laptop. I asked them to turn down the volume.
He ignored my request but changed seats so he was facing me.
As I was leaving I suggested he use headphones in a shared dining space.
He said something about being part of/knowing the family that own the place and became enraged jumping up with clenched fists and a contorted face. He appeared on the verge of violence.
The owners stood around watching but saying nothing.
I suddenly became very aware that I was the only Caucasian-looking (I'm mixed) person there.
I apologised to diffuse the seemingly escalating situation and left.
Pity as the food was quite good and the lady serving seems very nice.
I prefer a peaceful environment to dine in though.

Excellent addition to Vic St - Edit
I really enjoyed my trip to Easy Vegan - happened across it while I was in the area at a quiet time in the afternoon, and the service was polite and attentive from the start. The food was delicious, creative and came at a reasonable speed. I got the classic pho which had all the trimmings of your typical pho with the different mock meats (similar to the non-vegan version) and the rice paper rolls, with broken rice combo to takeaway for my partner, who also loved the food. Will definitely be back soon!
