Embarrassing and horrible - Edit
A very unpleasant experience today with extremely rude staff and very embarrassing for me with my 8 year old daughter.
Read moreA very hot day and I queued for a while to buy her some ice cream.
They wouldn't serve me as I only had a £5 note. They refused to take the money even though its legal tender and I must say I work very hard for my money but it's not good enough for them.
A manager came and I explained very politely that I just needed to buy my daughter ice cream and it is money.
I found this very discriminatory for various reasons.
What if I lost my card or forgot my card?
What if I didn't have a bank account or I'm in my overdraft?
What if my bag got stolen? And I only had this note.
The annoying thing was he offered to give me a free sample ice cream for my daughter and then refused to mock me.
He Told me to go away in a rude manner and asked to serve the next customer. The next customer over heard and offered to buy my daughter the ice cream. A really lovely gesture from this person. It is a shame the staff here and the company is not treating people as human beings, honest people just wanting to purchase an ice cream. I am very disappointed and was made to feel embarrassed and its a shame as I would not have had this issue elsewhere. I thought the 2 staff were rude to me and enjoyed the situation. Absolute poor service and no reason what so ever not take cash apart from card being thier preferred option. But it's not exactly illegal to take cash so what's the problem?
Pros: Nice park, Nice lake, Nice trees
Cons: Bad staff, Discriminatory , Make you feel crap in front of your child

Surprisingly good salad - Edit
I went here with (non vegan) friends and wasn’t sure if there would be any real options (the cafe has fairly recently reopened , and the first time I checked there weren’t any / limited). I had a salad which at over£9 I thought was pricey; however it was very large and very filling - not just iceberg lettuce and some cucumber ! It included roasted sweet potato , pasta , avocado, kale, fresh tomatoes , roasted walnuts and sunflower seeds , and a variety of mixed leaves. There is at least one other salad that is/can be made vegan.

No vegan option - Edit
Sadly I relied on the previous review and had a bad experience. Not only was there no vegan option but the server was reluctant to adapt existing salad dish for me.
