Excellent donuts

I’m not the biggest donut fan, but these were amazing. We tried the strawberry milkshake and the chocolate donuts and they exceeded expectations. Coffee even came with a little donut hole.

5 Stars

Won’t let me rate it 5 stars for some reason but it was a 5 star trip. So cute with about 15 different types of donuts. Got the strawberry frosted, Boston cream, and raspberry jelly. They were all delicious!

Vegan Nut Joy Dough

Vegan owned and operated small local bakeshop with three outlets in Seattle. On Capitol Hill find their big clean outpost with pretty purple and pink themed storefront with a counter to wolf down your brilliant bright breakfast breads with better coffee than the rest of the city.

The mango filled donut I tried was good enough to write home about and make an extra purchase to bring extra with me. Excellent donuts, excellent coffee, excellent location.

The only addition this shop requires is a soft serve machine! Please hurry!

Pros: breathtaking donuts, exquisite coffee, vegan owned and operated

Cons: no soft serve ice cream-- yet!

Donuts, Friendly Staff & Cute Shop

I finally convinced my boyfriend to drive to Seattle to try Dough Joy, and it was worth the adventure. The shop is adorable, and the staff that helped us was very friendly. We ordered six donuts (strawberry milkshake, apple fritters, cookies & cream, sour watermelon, strawberry filled, and caramel glazed twist). We also ordered a chai, a mocha and tasted their donut holes. The drinks were tasty and a warm treat on a cold morning. The donuts were above average and relatively fluffy but definitely on the sweeter side. They were also expensive but large, so they could easily be shared. The sour watermelon (which was a special) was surprisingly sour and very unique. The others were more aligned flavor-wise with what I expected.

While Dough Joy may not be my all-time favorite donuts, the adorable (all vegan!) shop/aesthetic and friendly staff makes me want to support them again.

Total Must: V-Donuts @ Capitol Hill

Amazing spot, fully vegan/plant-based. Just devoured the Pride fluffy donut and after walking with my luggage uphill it was delicious and super satisfying!

Friendly personnel and gorgeous donuts that are SO tasty! I have three (3) left! A super recommend for others visiting in the area!

Amazing fluffy delicious donuts

We went midday on a Friday, and they'd had a busy morning, so the selection was a bit limited, but we still had several options to choose from. We went with cookies and cream and bavarian cream. Both were incredible. We also had a really good soy latte that came with a cinnamon donut hole on top. The people working there were super nice and friendly and welcoming to our dog. This was our first time in a Dough Joy location, although we had tried their donuts at their Valentine's Day tasting event at Pine Lake Cellars, so we knew we loved their donuts. We thought the Dough Joy shop was super cute and felt so fun and playful. We'll be back to try more flavors! And thank you for being dog-friendly!

Pros: Amazing donuts, Good lattes, Dog-friendly

How did I not know about this

So I’ve been checked out of the vegan community in Seattle for a while now, as I pulled back from Facebook but also as the moderators of Vegan City Seattle have become increasingly heavy handed about banning topics and people. So excuse me while I hijack this review a moment to tell you there’s another Facebook group that isn’t on so much of a power trip: Seattle Vegan Society

Ok, back to the review: After a decade in Seattle I cannot muster up a crumb of excitement for Mighty O. I honestly just thought donuts weren’t that good as a category until I visited Doe Donuts in Portland. For me, Dough Joy ranks (slightly) below Doe and well above Mighty O’s (mostly) cake donuts, which are made off site and will never have that just-made freshness I crave.

I have a preference for the adventurous flavors of Doe, while the flavors here are a bit more safe. So far, the inside of every donut we tried was identical in flavor. The bake was perfect! Place was quite pleasant and pretty explicitly vegan with their note about “no upcharges”. I’m not totally thrilled about the auto-tipping starting at 18% for counter service, or dogs in the cafe.

Pros: damn good donuts, Pleasant airy space , Baked on site

Overjoyed

There were so many tempting flavors, but I chose a vanilla Biscoff doughnut. It was a little too sweet for me, but still delicious.

Pros: all vegan, many flavors

Cons: pricey

Amazing coffee and yeast donuts!

You can’t help but feel joyful here. The donut holes are a great touch on the espresso drinks. It reminds me of Seattle’s long lost cafe: Coffee Messiah which did the same. Seattle was missing a vegan version of the modern donut shop and so happy these owners and their team made it happen!

Pros: Unique flavors , Adorable interior

Cons: Not open enough! (fingers crossed)

Magical donuts served by angels

Okay their everything but the bagel donut is a game changer. It has ruined all other donuts for me, forever. The other flavors are also delicious. All donuts are soft and fluffy, but not so airy that they’re unfulfilling. And the staff is SO sweet!! We went there two days in a row on our vacation.

Pros: All vegan!, Fantastic staff, Unique flavors

Delicious, pricey donuts.

Nice shop located on Capital Hill in Seattle. I ordered a few chocolate donuts and thought they were great. I would certainly return if in the area and my sweet tooth is buzzing.

The freshness and variety are second to none. As if ordering a delicious oat milk latte wasn’t enough, they serve it with a cute donut hole on the straw! Can’t get enough.

Pros: New flavors daily/weekly, Friendliest staff!, Happy environment

Best donuts in Seattle!

I’ve been waiting for a donut place like this. Now there’s two locations! I’m really glad the No Bones food truck gets to live on as another vegan vessel.

The everything donut is so good. More savory donuts please!

Best doughnuts ever

Wow! We got a whole dozen of these incredible doughnuts to share with another family, but each doughnut is so gloriously big that we were eating doughnuts for 3 days (they were still great!). My husband said, "I am a connoisseur of apple fritters, and this fritter needs a Michelin Star." My favs were the cookie butter-filled and the churro with chocolate filling. Just the simple chocolate-frosted with sprinkles was so, so good too. The Pride rainbow doughnut is the prettiest doughnut I've ever seen. No offense to Mighty-O, but it's hard to imagine ever getting those again when these are an option! Person working there was so sweet too. And lattes were great as well.

Hell yes

So good!! Love that there’s a great raised donut option in the area now! I may have been ambitious with my box of four donuts (I am only one person, and while I love donuts I don’t eat this much sugar often) but I just couldn’t help myself. So far the pb&j twist is fantastic, and I will update this review once I’ve had the others 🍩

Amazing Vegan Doughnuts

My girlfriend and I have made the two hour trip to Portland several times for vegan doughnuts from Doe Donuts. Without a doubt the doughnuts from Dough Joy blow them out of the water in every way. Absolutely worth the drive to Seattle. We may have gone a bit overboard when ordering doughnuts just because we wanted to try so many flavors, but don’t regret it at all.

I highly disagree with the previous review about the Mango Con Chile the flavor was delicious and I’ve yet to dislike a single one of the doughnuts I’ve tried.

We got there before the line really picked up, but they are fast and the staff are amazing. We saw people come and go with doughnuts while waiting for a fresh made latte, by the time the doughnuts were boxed or bagged they were ready to take payment to get you on your way.

If you were considering trying them, do yourself a favor and go. They always post when they’re sold out and are making more each day as they learn how much they really need to make to not sell out before normal closing hours.

Pros: Delicious Flavors, Wonderful Staff, Line Moves Quick

Cons: Literally Nothing

So good but get there early

Honestly the best part is they have vegan whipped cream for all their coffee drinks!! The donuts are also good, but they will post the their Instagram stories when they sell out.
