Yikes!

I must say I’ve had a few fantastic dishes from this place (Burmese laphet thoke, Beirut-style hummus, etc.), but then I caught wind of a social media controversy that happened in 2019 when an experienced cook got fired on her first day, apparently bc she complained about unsafe food practices like thawing raw meat in a mop sink + then she posted pics + ppl tried to get #MopMeat to trend + I saw the pics + it’s as nasty as it sounds. Instead of acknowledging need for improvement, Nue chalked it up to bad timing + "she was not a good fit.” Nah, I’m out. I've had food poisoning once + I ain't about to have it twice.

enough vegan options for one trip

Pan-global neighborhood spot that I'd somehow never heard of until the well-documented Twitter kerfuffle a few years ago. Only place in town I know of with a laphet toke since Hotel Albatross closed. Well-labeled menu with enough vegan options to support one visit, and staff who (agree with other review) definitely don't want to be here.

Egyptian brussels sprouts: Great. Yum.

Laphet toke: the mint on top works pretty well. A pretty good version, all in all.

Dhal: the flavors hit oddly for me, and since dhal is one of the easier curries to make at home, I'd skip. Unfortunate that this is the only real vegan entree (when we went) so I might just recommend drinks and appetizers here before a show.

Not many options but SO good

I’ve heard this place has some of the best food in Seattle and they’re in our neighborhood so we decided to give them a try. They don’t have that many vegan options so we tried most of the vegan food here. It’s amazing! The best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had. The fermented tea salad and squash curry were also delicious. My only complaint is there aren’t that many options here.

Pros: The food is so good , Creative dishes

Cons: Not many vegan options
