Doppeltsolecker 2.0 bietet leckere slawische Küche mit typischen Teigtaschen-Gerichten - alle vegan oder vegetarisch.
Read moreBesonders hervorzuheben sind neben dem Kreuzviertel-typischen gemütlichen Ambiente und dem netten Personal die tollen Torten. Alle vegan, selbstgemacht und eine leckerer als die andere.
Die Torten bieten sich auch gut zum Teilen an bei kleineren Appetit.

Dortmund was the first place I visited in Germany. My father worked in the Ruhr when I was a child, in Germany in the weeks, London on the weekends. I have a vivid fragments of memories of visiting in the 2000s, after he had restricted his commute to within the M25. I hadn't been back for perhaps 20 years. Somehow it's got worse. I went here as a last resort seeing as I arrived in the late afternoon and all three of the vegan places there were closed. I first went to try Doppeltsolecker 1.0. The door was ajar but there were no customers. I asked if the kitchen was open and the woman behind the counter didn't understand, so she called for help. 'What do you want?' said help asked. 'I'd like some food' I said. 'For free?' she said. I burst out laughing. It wouldn't take me long to realise that though no one looks at me twice in most cities, I really just do not look like I belong in Dortmund. 'No,' I said 'unless...'. 'You can go to our other place, it's down here and round there and so on, the kitchen there is open later'. I followed her instructions and found myself on a much nicer street than the post-industrial wasteland that makes up most of the city. I really didn't want it to be good seeing as it's not a fully vegan place, but I have to admit that this was one of the best meals I had in the whole two weeks I was in this country. Crispy mashed potato dumpling things, mushrooms and smoked tofu (which works wells enough not to feel like a substitute) in a simple creamy sauce buried under the rubble of fried onion and diced sour cucumber. In true Eastern European tradition they serve you enough to send you straight to the grave if you force yourself to eat it all. A lovely thing. In Dortmund, of all places, Dortmund.

Der vegane Burger mit Beilagen ist einfach super lecker. Eine Geschmacksexplosion für die Sinne. Die Torten sind alle vegan. Dieses Mal haben wir die Oreo Torte probiert. Die ist auf jeden Fall lecker, aber die Snickerstorte bleibt unser absoluter Favorit. Die Heißgetränke gibt es alle wahlweise auch mit Hafermilch. Die Auswahl sowie der Service sind top. Es gibt sehr viele Sitzplätze sowohl draußen als auch drinnen in einer schönen, stylischen und gemütlichen Atmosphäre.

Comfortably furnished.
There are lots of vegan cakes and Ukrainian (and Georgian) dishes.
We found the "Teigtaschen" (dumplings) very tasty.
Unfortunately, this location is also not completely vegan and the waitress was only mediocre during our visit (not very attentive + she didn't seem to have much fun with her job).

Zweite Location von doppeltsolecker. Diese Location ist größer und hat keinen Ruhetag (Aktuell jeden Tag geöffnet). 👍🏻
Gemütlich eingerichtet.
Es gibt viele vegane Torten und ukrainische (und georgische) Speisen.
Sehr lecker fanden wir die Teigtaschen.
Leider ist auch diese Location nicht komplett vegan und die Bedienung war bei unserem Besuch nur mittelmäßig (Nicht sehr aufmerksam + sie wirkte als hätte sie nicht sonderlich Spaß an ihrem job).
