Super tasty Ethiopian food! We really enjoyed everything we ordered; the vegetable combination plate, sambussas, and coffee. Lovely hosts and friendly atmosphere!

Flavorful Ethiopian Food - Edit
If you’re looking for a completely vegetarian and vegan spot with amazing food, check out Desta Cafe at 303 A Oakland Avenue in Oakland, CA. This is a women-owned, family-run Ethiopian restaurant, and it’s one of my absolute favorites!
Read moreI had the ginger tea and the veggie combo plate, which came with:
• Misir Wot (red lentils)
• Atkilt Wot (carrots, potatoes, and cabbage)
• Alicha Ater Kik (split peas)
• Gomen or Azifa (kale or collard greens)
The food is full of flavor, and the ginger tea is the perfect pairing. The owners are super kind, and the vibe here is always welcoming. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s a great spot to enjoy some delicious, wholesome food and support a local women-owned business.
Definitely one of my go-to spots! #Veganuary

Great Vegan Food - Edit
We liked this place a lot. The veggie combo is similar to other places, but it is also unique in some ways. The flavours are great. We want to come back for brunch because they have a brunch menu which is unusual for am Ethiopian place.
Read moreThey have nice outdoor tables too. The only minus is some of the food has a lot of oil, but it's not that bad.

Charming and delicious! - Edit
Some of the best Ethiopian food I’ve had. We had the veggie combo and shiro. The green lentil dish kind of blew our minds.

Fresh Ethiopian - Edit
Cozy cute shop off Harrison cpl blocks behind grocery outlet. Food was delicious and a large serving size. I'm a big eater and this filled me up. Still got a cookie to go😂💪🏿. Two flavors vanilla and chocolate both covered in cashews. Every was mild except the green lentils which was medium. Owner very nice and sweet!

Excepts cash or card
Pros: Delicious , Fresh, All vegan
