Worth it but not perfect - Edit
I came here with a friend for lunch on a Saturday, and would recommend making a reservation if visiting on the weekend since it was quite busy. The room is lovely inside Hanshin, with a bit of a view overlooking lower Umeda. I really enjoyed being able to have a more fancy experience without the fuss of a formal restaurant setting. We shared the vegan pad Thai, lemon balsamic karrage, and gluten-free carrot cake with the daily herbal tea. The karagge was exceptional; very well flavoured, with an excellent vegan tartar sauce like nothing I've had in Japan before. The pad Thai was pleasant, but too oily and without enough peanut to be considered a true pad Thai; my friend commented that it was more like pasta. The cake was satisfying, although I have had better rice flour-based vegan cakes in Kansai. All of the portions were fairly small, and the bill total came to 5,000 yen, however I didn't mind and felt the experience was worth it.
Read moreI do see a large area for improvement in the customer service; we had several issues. The table given to us was the closest one to the entrance, which seemed like an odd choice given that we'd booked ahead. Then, when we'd decided that we would share dishes, we moved the plastic partition in the middle of the table to the side so that we could share. I'd thought that putting the partition along the outside of the table would be fine, however the server very awkwardly came and moved the partition back, saying it would "make the other guests uncomfortable." I don't see how, since we were putting it between us and them. But apparently it was fine if my friend moved and sat along the side of the table next to me and we pushed the partition backwards a little bit so it still looked "in place." We were totally bewildered and felt like it was just really insincere and illogical. The general feeling of the place, in relation to the portion size and presentation also, was that it's more about appearances than anything else. Given that I've had similar experiences over and over in Japan, however, and that the karagge was unexpectedly good, and I was in the mood to just enjoy myself and relax, it didn't really bother me. But be warned, don't go here for a cheap meal or any flexibility. This is the type of place that won't make any menu considerations or talk to you non-robotically. It's good if you want to spend some money on a pretty meal in between shopping, though.

Pretty and delicious food - Edit
Such a gorgeous restaurant with great quality food, everything is so fresh and comes so beautifully presented. It tastes even better than it looks! Came here on a weekday lunch time and wasn’t too busy. The staff were super attentive and friendly and also spoke great English if you don’t have any Japanese.

We came here looking for some good quality fresh food with veggies! We had the soy mince taco rice bowl which was lush with smashed potato sides and organic hot cocoa. It went down a treat!

SO FULL - Edit
They have this big amazing fresh vegetable buffet and they're mostly vegan except boiled eggs and bacons. This place isn't all vegan but there are so many vegan options to choose from and on the menu, each dish clearly shows what the dish contains. I went there with several friends who aren't vegans but they were all very satisfied as well. I recommend the buffet and their fried fish hamburger. I ate so many tomatoes I thought I'd pass out.

Pricey, but Lots of Vegan Options - Edit
I've eaten here twice. The first time I had the vegan taco rice, and it was okay. I came back because there are multiple vegan options and I wanted to give it another chance. I'm glad I did! I had the vegan fish burger and loved it! The salad bar looks good, but too expensive. The drinks are also pretty pricey, so I stuck to the fruit infused water offered for free. Very tasty. The staff is also very kind and welcoming.

Great food, ok service - Edit
The matcha parfait is dreamy. Other deserts and main courses, including the famous vegan "fish" burger, are good. As always, it's a matter of taste - the friend I went with doesn't like matcha parfaits at all.
Read moreIt's expensive, and the waitresses seemed shy, and relieved to use Japanese. Service was definitely unusual for Japan, and it took some work to get attention. The friend I went with wasn't amused when the waitresses huddled for a while giggling and avoiding us, but it was more or less like any busy place with slightly reluctant staff after that - we successfully ordered several times while there. I don't know if being 20 years older and extremely elegantly dressed, like the average patron, would have helped. :)
I'd go back for that parfait.
Pros: Matcha parfait of dreams
Cons: Expensive, odd service

So delicious! - Edit
This place is on the third floor of the Hanshin department store. At first we thought the restaurant was really nice but the prices were quite high. However when we got the food we changed our mind as it was so tasty!! My friend said it was one of the best vegan burgers she had ever had and the pad Thai was so flavourful!

After a lot of convenience store meals and instant ramen packets, this restaurant was a breath of fresh air. A full vegan menu including sweets and desserts. Highly recommend, would definitely go back.

Poor service, few options and expensive - Edit
Went here around 12pm on a Sunday. Had to wait 30 mins to be seated, despite the fact I was alone and there were at least 5 tables of 4 seats free. I had the salad buffet, which cost ¥1998. Very few, boring options. Raw vegetables and a funky tasting slaw. Some boiled eggs (still in the shell and difficult to peel) for vegetarians and a meat option for onmis. Bread and meat had already gone by the time I arrived and the other options were running low. Staff were slow and I felt as if I was being looked down upon for being foreign. Save your money and go somewhere else, there are tons of other veggie/vegan places in Osaka that are worth your patronage. On a plus side, the soup was alright.

If you’re looking to chow down near Osaka Station, this is the place! Super easy to find on level 3 of the Hanshin Building (use the Sky Walk If you’re coming from the JR or Umeda Station.)
Read moreThe atmosphere is light and bright with a view of Osaka and the menu has plenty of clearly marked vegan options, along with the buffet which dearly labels vegan items as well!
While the food is on the pricier side, it’s well worth it in terms of atmosphere, quality of the food, location and overall dining experience.

Fantastic! - Edit
This place is a vegetable lovers dream! Have been seriously craving some veggies during my time in Japan so was super happy here. You can opt for just the salad buffet or get a meal, or a meal & the salad buffet. All vegan items on the menu are clearly marked. My bf & I ordered a pasta from the menu & both got the buffet. The pasta was delicious but omg the salad buffet was amazing! So many delicious foods. One waitress was very helpful in pointing out vegan options as they are not marked. Both soups were, & they were very tasty, plus all the salads & dressings/sauces. There were eggs & the bread had milk in it plus two meat dishes on the buffet but everything else was vegan friendly. SO good! Considering coming back for dinner...
