The best sushi I have ever had - Edit
As a vegan sushi lover I have always enjoyed visiting Vancouver and trying new sushi spots. However, you usually get stuck with an avo/yam roll.
Read moreCofu is the antidote Vancouver needed for boring vegan sushi. The sushi here is incredibly creative, delicious, and clearly made with a lot of love. I would recommend getting one of the larger plates and trying one of the alcohol free cocktails. This place is unmissable!
Pros: Amazing sober bar selection!!, Wonderful staff and service , Incredibly creative and beautiful

Bland Vegan Sushi - Edit
I really wanted to like this place as it is the only all vegan sushi restaurant in Vancouver but I was extremely disappointed. The sushi is extremely bland, texture is mushy and the side sauces are watery and have strange flavour combinations. It looks pretty on the plate but that’s about it. I won’t be going back.

Best meal in Vancouver do far - Edit
I've eaten at nearly a dozen vegan restaurants in the Vancouver area this year and this was the best meal yet. I had their Cofu sushi platter. The vegan roe and paste on the side of the plate also greatly enhanced the flavour of the pressed sushi.

Seriously lacking flavour - Edit
Little place quite in the center of town next to tourist-island. Fully vegan, gluten-free items are marked on the menu. They can seat less than 20 people (4 tables and a counter at the window), but it was not too crowded when I went there on a Wednesday evening.
Read moreThe miso soup was good, the sushi nice to look at, but I have to agree with a previous reviewer that it is lacking a lot flavour. Even the two sauces (one with cilantro, the other a tiny bit spicy) lacked in flavour, so I cannot really recommend this restaurant that much unfortunately - not bad but nothing to return to. Possibly the bowls are more interesting.

Everything is vegan and everything we had was delicious. I've never been to an all vegan sushi place so it was very exciting to have so many options.

Light & tasty - Edit
I’m only removing one star because they were out of all the NA liquors, ginger beer, only had regular NA beers.
Read moreThe sushi is so tasty and light that we got two of the omakase combo dishes, one of which was a weekly special that was actually designed/built/chosen by our server. The stand out is the tuna, so smokey and delicious, the mushroom and the eggplant.

Gochiso sama deshita - Edit
The staff were all so nice and pleasant. The location is quite beautiful. The food was probably the most memorable meal I've ever eaten. It was in a league of its own. I had short rib, tuna, wild carrot and balsamic soy with a kawabata as a drink. This place should be on everybody's list.

Everything that we tried was delicious. The salmon and tuna were my favourite but everything else was also incredible. The restaurant was small but nice and not crowded. The staff were also all so kind and helpful. I also loved having a fully sober bar.

Epic - Edit
This place has so much integrity and is classy af. Small seating room with some outdoor tables too. Cofu is in a outdoor plaza and is slightly off the main road the address is on. I live in Marinaside and really enjoyed taking the False Creek Ferry to Granville and just walking through to find Cofu under the bridge.

Lovely and Fun! GF Vegan Approved - Edit
So tastey!! I liked the Salmon and Eggplant the best of the ones I tried. I thought the food was really good and it’s this cute little place right off of Granville Island. Perfect for if you’re out for the day in the area. We got the Omakase Cofu and Daichi which was pretty filling for 2 people.

Overrated - Edit
Pressed sushi is slightly different from normal Nigiri and here it’s well presented and comes with brown rice. That makes it nice to look at as well. The sushi itself is okay not well flavored and lacking salt and vinegar and soy - there are definitely more flavorful options around !- maybe I Chose the wrong itsems
Read moreI had the Daishi
16 pieces of four different styles
Tofu - thinly sliced and not seasoned at all
Avocado mango (great flavor but also could be more generous with the topping)
Tuna 🍣 this one was probably my favorite
Mixed veg - crunchy veg on top the veg itself is nice but also not seasoned and flavorless
The ambience is nice - it’s quite small but bright and friendly decorated. The big windows offer high seats as well.
Service is super friendly and helpful, but a bit slow
I got my soy sauce and salt - they did not have ginger or wasabi
Pros: Vegan, Special
Cons: Flavorless, Slow, Small portions
