One vegan dish per day, usually quite bland and uninventive. It is ok, if you work nearby, otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

A bistro for a quick lunch, every day some 4 dishes, one can also order half portion of each dish (many people tend to take 2 half portions of different dishes). My food was however not warm at all and it was not very tastefull...

I go to this place for lunch quite often because it's close to my workplace. Unfortunately they usually only have one vegan option per day. Most dishes contain dairy or eggs. Thankfully the soups are almost always vegan. They often have a variety of good looking desserts which I'd like to try but are not vegan. Overall the food is good but pretty simple.

Some reviewers seem to have missed the point of this place: it's not a fine dining experience where they'll cook something to order if you don't like what's on offer: it's a place to fill up on decent, good-value vegetarian food.
Read moreThe only real downside is that it's extremely popular, and it can be hard to find a seat, but if you avoid the lunchtime rush, the central location makes it hard to beat in the area.
Update: the restaurant was renovated in 2016, and is now much more pleasant to visit (as long as you don't mind retro 70s brown).

Cheap, quick, simple. It's always crowded place for Slovak people who need to eat a dinner during their break at work. Menu is only in Slovak, but there is an information (in Slovak) about ingredients so if you know Slovak you could have a vegan option. Just one. But still. Dishes are not very tasty (I've tried only vegan dishes), but food is cheap.

Well, I understand this may not be the true paradise for foreign veggies, everything is written solely in slovak and if you want to try to speak to the staff probably russian is the only option besides slovak. Nevertheless, once you understand the language or you have somebody to help you, you can find all kinds of veggie food here, also a vegan option is always available. Often the food is some fake-meat replacement of a typical central-european dishes, still quite tastefull. Everyday a mixed vegetable salad is available. So, probably not a good referene for everyone, but still I recommend to try.

Is this a very strange DDR-eske communist dining hall type place? Cos if not we ate in the wrong place!!! Was probably the weirdest dining experience iv had in a long time, had one vegan option, a pasta vegetable mix (frozen vegetable mix with corn and carrots and the like..)Still pretty sure i must have been somewhere else!!

The response was "everything has butter" Not a good vegan experiance becaues he was happy for me to go back to the table with diced lettuce and cucumber, olive oil and a popperdom. Only 98 euro cents though. Really means he couldn't be bothered to cook something different. It was just: that's all we have, so 'next please' Must depend on who is on duty but he could not understand the problem with cows milk. Something to do with the importance of the cow in Hare Krishna culture I think. Not busy on the night I went so they could
have done somthing. Only other option to go into the kitchen and cook it myslef perhaps?

Fair enough - but it does say that this is a lacto-vegetarian place, and to suggest that they 'couldn't be bothered' by not accommodating you is a bit of western arrogance in my view. If they had cooked something special for you you would be saying how wonderful they were (as it would mean that they had gone out of their way) but to stick to their existing menu was a sign of laziness. I have had many similar experiences as a lacto-v, and just accept it as the way things ae when in another culture. We vegans/vegetarians need to get off our high horses sometimes.
