Fair enough - but it does say that this is a lacto-vegetarian place, and to suggest that they 'couldn't be bothered' by not accommodating you is a bit of western arrogance in my view. If they had cooked something special for you you would be saying how wonderful they were (as it would mean that they had gone out of their way) but to stick to their existing menu was a sign of laziness. I have had many similar experiences as a lacto-v, and just accept it as the way things ae when in another culture. We vegans/vegetarians need to get off our high horses sometimes.
