Best baos ever

As it was mentioned in the last review, the new location is B1 floor (food court) in Jujuang shopping center (next to the temple). It’s really loud and busy and mostly take away, but there are a few chairs.
It was extremely difficult to order, the QR code worked but there was something wrong with my IP address? I don’t speak Chinese so it was really hard to explain this to the cashier because they don’t know any English. I spent like 30 minutes just trying to figure this out. At the end I ordered it directly to the same cashier (who was lovely) but it was very frustrating that I tried to do that 30 minutes earlier but she didn’t let me for some reason. The baos are so good! I didn’t know which ones were vegan so I tried to guess and didn’t order any sweet ones. We got 6 for 30 yuan and they are huge and with a lot of filling. So good. Don’t get the rice thingy because it’s not so nice.

Only take away

The restaurant has moved to the floor B1 (food court) of the Juguang shopping mall on 2025/03/11.
Unfortunately now it's much smaller and it only does take away (if I understood it correctly, because I don't speak Chinese).
It's a pity, I went there to eat again that amazing wonton menu, but now they only sell the dumplings to take away.

Simple and fast

I found a vegan menu with noodles. They have tofu options as well as buns filled with vegetables or rice. It is a very simple food. But does the trick for a fast lunch. Try the warm soy milk with dates. Staff doesn’t speak English, but is friendly and helpful.

Pros: Fast, Cheap

Cons: Too simple maybe

Quick food near Jing’An Temple

This place is adjacent to Jing’An Temple on the pedestrian street near Yuyuan Road. It’s a great place and the people are friendly. I wasn’t able to evaluate the baozi because they were already out, my fault for getting there after 9pm. They only had noodles left, I got the noodles which came with veggie crab. Will go back again to try the bao and wonton soup.

Pros: Good location, Nice staff, Quick

Cons: Unclear what is vegan versus vegetarian

A little hard to find but reliable and fast

Follow the reviews for the directions. It’s outside the shopping centre on street level on people’s road.

The bao are so tasty, all vegan.

You can eat inside and there is a noodle soup on the menu. It was a little bland but reliable and good.

Vegetarian dumpling and noodle

All options vegetarian, possibly vegan. Wonton soup, different dumplings and noodles. Good taste!

Best 包子

I was here for almost every day since in Shanghai. It’s very convenient. You can either eat at the restaurant or takeaway.

If you want the buns to go you have to order them inside and then go pick them up. They probably will hand you the English menu & you can choose there.

And the highlight, they are quite friendly. 😁

Btw I think it is opened even before 10:00.

Fantastic vegan Baozi

Delicious. I only tried the takeout baozi window out front. You go inside to order and they have an English menu with pictures available. About 6 varieties of veg Baozi. I tried the vegetable and mock meat one and the bean curd one. Both very tasty. The location is on the pedestrian road on the east edge of Jing’An temple. It is the north most shop on that street (east side of the road).
