Vegetarianism is an allergy - Edit
I am in Vegas for a conference, and stopped by China Poblano for dinner last night. Some of the food I ordered was quite good (the coconut "ceviche" for example), but the menu is really difficult to navigate. They've come up with abbreviations for all kinds of food allergies and sensitivities (nuts, gluten, dairy, etc.), and have grouped vegetarian and vegan together with these. What that means is, you have a long string of letters above every menu item, and you eventually lose track/get confused over what your options are. The staff aren't *super* helpful (I got the sense that I was taken for a "poor hippy" who wouldn't be spending much). Overall it felt like a square peg and a round hole. And a few small plates came to $115 before tip!

a welcome find - Edit
chinese and mexican tastes great as a concept! superb service though items came out “of different kitchens” at various and different times. spicy glass noodles, young coconut ceviche and nopal tacos all hit the spot, and the wallet! lunch for 5, $250. bam!

Cons: expensive, super small portions

awesome ambience, vegan options - Edit
Love this place! Since I first came here a year ago they’ve added a fully labeled menu so you know what is vegan. Great for small plates to share.
Read moreRecommend the oat noodles (kao lao lao) and spring pea salad. The spring rolls were good but a bit oily. Make sure you get the vegan dipping sauce for them (the regular sauce is not vegan).
The nopales taco is vegan and has an interesting flavor, if you like cactus.
Highly recommended.
Pros: ambience , vegan items labeled , friendly staff

Good vegetarian options, great service & ambiance - Edit
Outstanding service, ambiance and vegetarian food options. I had lunch and dinner here a year ago & lunch again this year. They have a separate vegetarian menu & can accommodate vegans and those who don't want eggs. The menus are clearly marked & the staff are well educated on this. They have fresh fruit based drinks (aqua frescas) that change daily - be sure to try them. They guacamole is made fresh right in front of you & was very good. The chips are cooked in the morning in vegetable oil before any meat items are cooked. The spring rolls are very good - not very oily & with a good variety of vegetables. The tacos are unique, soft wrapped, light & full of flavor. I enjoyed the hongos taco (on the menu last time I came), the taco nopales, & the refried bean taco - all were great & light - they come in orders of one. The chayote salad is a very unique item & was good - it is not your typical green leaf salad, so try it. Finally, the terra cotta chocolate & paloma deserts were very good. Bottom line - great vegetarian food with taste & creativity. The service was very very good. The atmosphere is nice. For a party of 2, I would get 2 tacos, the spring rolls, & the guacamole, adding on another taco or two if hungry, along with the aqua fresca. For one person, guac, a couple tacos, the chayote salad & desert is plenty.

Delicious - Edit
While they did not have a "vegan" menu, they did have a vegetarian menu, dairy allergy menu, and egg allergy menu so it was not difficult to find vegan options. The waiter was also knowledgeable about vegan options and the food was delicious. Dishes were about $20/plate...

Unexpected Gem - Edit
I was at a work conference in Las Vegas and a colleague selected China Poblano for dinner one night. We had spent the week going to upscale Las Vegas restaurants that were hit and miss in terms of vegan options. China Poblano was a pleasant surprise. When I asked for options, the Server was very knowledgeable and there were many Mexican and Chinese tapas that were options. He even brought up cross contamination and suggested that if that was a concern, I might want to avoid the deep fried dishes. Our visit was during Chinese New Year celebrations so they had a special menu including a very tasty bourbon, ginger, green tea foam concoction that was fantastic. China Poblano is on the second floor of shops and restaurants in the Cosmopolitan Hotel - a little hard to find but worth the effort.
