Fully vegan breakfast - Edit
I had the full breakfast and my husband had the French toast, all of it was delicious and came out pretty quickly too. Lots of cake choices, I had a vanilla hazelnut custard Danish which was divine!! The coffee was also beautiful and well made. A nice cosy, chilled spot. I booked a table for a Saturday morning but I didn't need to, it was fairly quiet at 10.30 on a Saturday morning which surprised me! Would definitely recommend 👌

Best breakfast during my UK trip - Edit
A delicious vegan rendition of a standard Scottish breakfast. It was the only place that I tried to go back a second time (but they gapped to be closed).

A fantastic little cafe - Edit
We had the vegan breakfast. Generous portions and quite delicious. Good coffee and a lovely pot of roobios tea. Previously I have had a sandwich to go. The range of sandwiches and subs is extensive - I look forward to working my way through them. On a Monday morning the cafe was busy, with a vibrant atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

Chapter One - Edit
Popped in for brunch on my last day in Edinburgh. I went for the French toast, which came with bacun, banana, and a generous serving of maple syrup — a huge portion! Just lacking a little in flavour for me personally. The chai latte was smooth and delicious.
Read moreIt’s a little out of the city centre, and I was hoping parking might be easier, but there’s no parking on the street (it’s a red route).
Overall, a lovely spot with a varied range of vegan food — well worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Delicious - Edit
Chapter One is a super cute restaurant/cafe with a wide selection of crossaints, bagels, sandwiches, plates and cakes. We had the fully vegan breakfast which was really good, a flat white and the autumn special: the biscoff latte (you definitely need to try this one!). Service was nice, we would definitely come back ☺️

Delicious food, welcoming space - Edit
This café was a gem of a find! We had a delicious sandwich each (one haggis and one falafel) and I had a light sponge, pistachio cake with the perfect icing on the top. The space itself was comfortable and inviting and the staff were very welcoming. It's also dog friendly, which is a bonus.

Beautiful. - Edit
Coffee’s top notch, food hits the spot and the staff are chipper. The owner is quite obviously passionate about a plant-based lifestyle, which is so nice to see.

The best soy cappuccino I’ve had!! - Edit
A really lovely cafe on the corner, my soy cap was soooo smooth and creamy, steamed to perfection! I also loved the sign about why they don’t serve dairy. A good selection of savoury and sweet. I would definitely recommend this place!

Lovely little place - Edit
The food was really tasty for a nice brunch. My non vegan friend even complimented how tasty everything was. Only thing is I felt staff could have been more attentive as when we walked in we weren’t sure if we were meant to choose a seat ourselves. Once we had a seat we didn’t realise it was pay at the till. It would have been good if the staff let us know this just so we were aware and to save confusion. All in all it has beautiful food and I would return!

Top notch hot drinks - Edit
My sister loved her biscoff coffee and my hot chocolate was deep and dreamy. I liked the breakfast, but did not like the haggis (I’ve never had even animal haggis so idk what it is meant to taste like). I just found it as well as the sausage to be very mushy in texture. I also asked for extra olive oil as our salads were quite dry. I liked the pesto sandwich, but my sister said it was nothing special and the “cheese” didn’t melt all the way. I got to eat the other half of her sandwich so it all turned out alright. Plus the portions are pretty generous!
Read moreSeems like the staff was in a bit of a hurry to cook our food, although the restaurant wasn’t packed or anything. Service was nice, free water, free wifi. The place is pretty small though. Would come back again.

Cute cafe! - Edit
It was quiet when we went in the morning, perfect atmosphere to sit in and eat. Got 2 hot chocolates, which looked so cute, and a slice of lemon blueberry cake, which had a lovely floral note to it, and the vanilla hazelnut crown. everything was perfect and delicious.

Friendly vibe. I will be back! - Edit
Totally worth visiting, if you're in the Haymarket area and crave a cake! I was afraid it would be crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but it was quite the opposite. The staff were very friendly (and their latte art is impressive), there was enough seating and pleasant music. The sandwiches on offer were not really my cup of tea (and seemed a bit pricey, too), and I was a bit disappointed that there were no cooked items available in the afternoon. However, all the cakes looked lush, and I had a hard time choosing just one! I will be back for more!

The place might be small in size, but the big welcome you receive cancels that out thanks to the lovely people who work there. The menu is really varied and I thoroughly enjoyed my soup and sandwich. There’s also a great selection of cakes to go with the delicious coffee.

Unfortunately underwhelming - Edit
I had high hopes due to other very positive reviews, however the experience wasn't great. Firstly it was very expensive. I had a coffee shake which, for £7, I expected to be a decent size. So, I was quite taken aback when the portion was only a small glass (pictured). I had the chilli ch*cken sandwich, which contained cheese and chicken nugget type things. For £8.50 I was expecting good quality vegan cheese and protein, however the cheese tasted like supermarket bought (e.g. violife or cathedral city) and the nuggets were mushy. Additionally, my sandwich was left in the panini press for ages as the server forgot about it, but still served it to me. This meant that, unfortunately, the bread was extremely solid and unpleasant. I had considered getting a slice of cake, but at £4.60 a slice, I decided I didn't want to risk spending the money for further disappointment. The service also wasn't great. I really really was expecting to enjoy this, so a real shame.

I would give this 100/5 stars. Best French toast ever!!!!! So friendly. Has dogs. The bacon tasted so real I got nervous even after she reassured me it was vegan. Coffee breakfast milkshake amazing. Wish so much I could come back here 😭 one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had in my life.
