Lovely dinner - Edit
I went to Centrum Kitchen for dinner with my sister whilst in Akureyri and had a really nice experience. There were two main options that worked for vegans: the vegetarian tacos could be made vegan, or there was a cauliflower steak labelled vegan. I chose the vegan tacos with chips and they were really lovely. The portion size was good and the price was reasonable for the area. The staff were really friendly and able to answer questions on what was vegan/could be made vegan. I would definitely recommend if anyone's in the area😄Only suggestion would be for a bit more protein in either of the options!

They changed the menu - Edit
They removed both the black bean burger and tofu taco. Instead there is a cauliflower steak and a vegetable taco. So no prótein at all fór veg people and they charge around 4000 for the dish. Ridiculous in my eyes.

A good backup restaurant on a nice evening - Edit
There aren't a ton of vegan-friendly restaurants in Akureyri, and so after a few days, we'd exhausted the usual places. We tried going back to the hot dog stand, but they were out of vegan hot dogs; it was a nice night, so we checked out the menu at the Centrum Kitchen & Bar, which was busy with people enjoying the outdoor seating. We were pleasantly surprised to see a few, clearly labeled, high-quality vegan options. We enjoyed both entrees we ordered from the patio, and I especially liked the tacos, which had perfectly fried battered tofu plus fresh vegetables and sauces. Worth it.
