Odd location but a good selection of vegan cakes

Cinnamon knot being vegan-friendly was a lovely suprise. I've been to the Jesmond branch before, and while it was great to see so many vegan cake options I was disappointed by how super-sugary everything was (vibe was less about flavour and more about sheer volume of sugar in the cakes), so was nice to have a good pastry on offer.

The cafe space is cosy, but I suspect would feel overcrowded when busy. Decent slection of loose leaf teas. Staff are lovely!

Pros: Lots of vegan cakes, Vegan cinnamon knot, Lots of loose leaf teas

Cons: Most cakes too sweet and lacking flavour

Vegan afternoon tea

Cake Stories Hoults Yard offers a generously portioned vegan afternoon tea with sandwiches, scone, cakes and bottomless tea/coffee for a very reasonable £19.50. The cafe is really cute and the staff are lovely. You’ll probably have to take half of it home with you - the cafe will give you a box.

Tasty Treats

Nice, friendly cafe with decent vegan options. We popped in after 18 holes of crazy golf (also in Hoults Yard) and shared a peanut butter and chocolate cookie dough and a caramel oat milk latte each. The cookie dough could have been a little bit more moist but it wasn't half tasty, while the lattes were delicious. We also loved the outside seating area, which was very relaxing and kooky. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Pros: Good food, Staff, Ambience
