Truly “Heimelig” - Edit
We discovered Café Heimelig by chance and what a find. The name could not be more fitting: the café truly feels heimelig, warm, comforting, and exactly the kind of place I’ve been looking for.
Read moreThere isn’t much seating and it gets especially busy on Sundays, but after a short wait we were lucky enough to get a table. In summer, sitting outside must be lovely as well. The interior is beautifully decorated with vintage charm, giving the space a nostalgic, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home.
There were two vegan cakes available. I chose the nut–semolina–apricot cake, and it was an absolute delight - genuinely tasted like something my grandmother would bake, in the best possible way. Comforting, balanced, and clearly made with care.
I also really appreciate the café’s concept: inclusivity and creating a meeting place for both young and older generations. That sense of community is truly felt.
Matcha has only recently been added to the menu, but it was excellent - the same depth and quality as at 2b Coffee Studio, which in my opinion serves the best matcha in the city.
One small but important criticism: the 0.30€ surcharge for Oatly oat milk feels quite steep. I’m generally not a fan of extra charges for plant milk at all, and it wouldn’t necessarily have to be Oatly for me personally but this pricing felt a bit excessive.
That said, I would love to come back to try the warm lunch dishes or breakfast. If I lived nearby, I would absolutely be a regular. A truly wonderful place.

Es gab 2 vegane Kuchen, die beide sehr lecker waren. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und haben uns auch mit "to go"-Besteck ausgestattet, da wir den Kuchen lieber im Park essen wollten.

they had two vegan cakes. the cakes are made from grandparents who work there. this places offers opportunities for inclusion of different generations. the atmosphere is cozy, living room-like. Coffee was good, but you had to pay 30 cents for oatly.

Das Café war so voll, dass nur noch draußen Platz war. Hab es mir dort gemütlich gemacht, das Personal war so lieb und seehr aufmerksam. Bestellung ging fix, das Möhrenbrot und auch der Zupfkuchen haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Weil es so voll war haben viele Leute Kuchen to go geholt, bei der tollen selbstgebackenen Auswahl kein Wunder! Liebe den sozialen Gedanken hinter dem Konzept, Omis können eben am besten backen;) Klare Weiterempfehlung!

Read moreVeganes Angebot ist okay, aber nicht herausragend. Laktosefreie Milch kostenlos, weil "keine Bauchschmerzen haben wollen nicht extra kosten soll", aber Hafermilch kostet Aufpreis 🤨
Kaffee ist aber lecker und Kuchen meistens auch.
Frühstück ist ganz okay bis gut, aber nichts besonderes bei.

Super leckere vegane Kuchen (soweit ich das verstanden habe gibt es immer 2 vegane Sorten) und auch die heiße Schokolade konnte in vegan angeboten werden! ✨
