Unfortunately bad experience - Edit
I had been to this restaurant several times before, and the vegan options were always good — but not this time, which was very disappointing. The current menu only includes a vegetarian pizza with vegan cheese or pasta with vegetables.
Read moreI ordered the vegetarian pizza with cheese, and the staff confirmed it could be made vegan. When the pizza arrived, it was clearly topped with mozzarella and parmesan. I asked my friends to taste it and then questioned the waiter, as I’ve been vegan for years and can easily tell the difference. They insisted it was vegan cheese, but after one bite it was obvious it wasn’t.
I asked them to check with the chef, who confirmed the mistake, took the pizza back, and said he would make a new one using Violife vegan cheese. When the new pizza arrived, to my surprise, it had parmesan sprinkled on top again. I pointed out that parmesan is not vegan.
In the end, I left without eating, despite the apology and a small discount on the bill. Staff need proper training and a basic understanding of what vegan actually means.

Delicious food, no more vegan menu - Edit
Lovely staff, there isn’t a vegan menu anymore, luckily they had vegan cheese and vegan chorizo so I was able to have a delicious pizza but before going I would recommend calling to check the vegan ingredients they have.
Read moreThe food is delicious though so worth the detour.
The address isn’t correct you have to go on their instagram to find the correct address. It’s in a tiny village.

the best garlic pizza bread ever! - Edit
We were so happy to find this cute little place, just a bit away from Lagos. It has an extra vegan menu. We had the vegan bolognese, & the garlic bread & a pizza. The vegan mozzarella was really nice, the pizza dough one of the best I’ve ever had & the staff was really helpful & friendly. I’m almost sad we didn’t know about it earlier & couldn’t try the other dishes.

A vegan oasis near Lagos - Edit
During my recent stay near Lagos, I stumbled upon a true vegan paradise: Ca La Mora. Tucked away in the charming village of Barão de São João, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in the area.
Read moreThe moment you step through the door, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is tasteful, creating a cosy environment perfect for enjoying a meal. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the overall delightful experience.
As a vegan, I'm always on the lookout for restaurants that offer more than just a token salad, and Ca La Mora did not disappoint. I had the pleasure of trying several dishes during my visits, and each one was a culinary masterpiece. The mushroom escalope, in particular, were a standout – bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection.
What sets Ca La Mora apart is their dedication to providing delicious vegan options without compromising on taste or quality. It's clear that the chefs here are passionate about creating dishes that celebrate the beauty of plant-based ingredients.
Whether you're vegan or simply looking for a fantastic dining experience near Lagos, I highly recommend paying a visit to Ca La Mora. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
