Reliable, quick, tasty, cheap! - Edit
I came to Kuching back in 2011 and am so happy to see Borneo Delight still in business because I loved it then and still love it now! They have a special vegetarian menu but check first if you’re vegan as some dishes may include egg. I ordered the laksa and went back for the olive rice another day.
Read morePros: Tasty, local food, Some new ingredients (local olive, ginger flower), Great prices
Cons: Some dishes slightly small portion

Lots of vegan-friendly options - Edit
We were initially planning to eat at another vegetarian restaurant nearby but our plans had changed due to some strange circumstances where we felt very unwelcomed there, we came here to eat instead.
Read moreLoved the fact that they had one full page of vegetarian rice options, another full page of vegetarian noodle options and also a vegetarian sarawak laksa. They said they could omit the eggs to make it vegan.
We had:
1. Sarawak Laksa (request no egg) RM9
2. Rainforest Fried Rice - local red rice, tapioca leaves, wild ginger flowers RM8.50
3. Manicai Noodles (kueh teow) - noodles, manicai vegetable, garlic. Remember to request no egg if vegan. RM7.50
We enjoyed the food a lot! The Manicai Kueh Teow was a bit on the oily side but we still enjoyed the meal. 👍
Very friendly people serving us and no one expected us to be able to speak Mandarin or Hokkien. 😃
Pros: Tasty

Affordable tasty food - Edit
Visited Borneo Delight a few times as it’s well located in the city centre just near Carpenter Street and the waterfront. Really tasty food and pretty cheap too.

Vegetarian menu with local dishes - Edit
Enjoyed being able to try some of the local dishes and the prices are very reasonable. I got olive rice and my SO got the vegetarian laksa. Just ask for vegan/ no egg and they can accommodate. Only downside was poor ventilation (no exhaust hood) so restaurant was at times filled with cooking smoke. They don't actually take card, but do accept Grab Pay and the like.
