It’s a nice little Ethiopian restaurant in Benoordenhout. Plenty of good vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The food is tasty, the injeras are good. Dishes come on big shared plates so make sure to specifically ask for seperate plates if your fellow eaters are not vegetarian/vegan.

We had a table outside and had the vegan mixed plate. The food was very tasty, the service fast, efficient and friendly. Our food came in 10 minutes! I've been to a lot of Ethiopian restaurants, and the food here was the best I've ever had. All tasty with pleasant textures. The injera were amazing! Also maybe because they actually have people working in a kitchen and not just a microwave.
Read moreThe vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. I guess if you go here with people who want to eat animal flesh you should ask not to serve everything traditionally on one big plate and get your vegan stuff seperately, but otherwise this place seemed very vegan friendly to me.

While the food is really good and tasty, the service level could be improved, as well as the seating. It was all a bit cramped. Nevertheless, it was great to try some new cuisine.

We selected this restaurant especially for its many vegan dishes, plus its option to make the bread (injeera) that comes with most dishes gluten free.
Read moreHowever, we were very surprised when our main courses (2× meat & 2× gluten-free vegan) all came on the same plate with the various foods touching each other. They also served it on standard injeera by mistake instead of the gluten-free injeera that we ordered.
Despite the food tasting quite good and the staff being friendly, this restaurant seems to have no real understanding of dietary requirements and preferences, as no other restaurant would ever put gluten-free and vegan food on a shared plate that has meat and glutinous food on it. It's a real shame, because Ethiopian food is usually a great choice for vegan people that need gluten-free options.

Cute new restaurant, good food, nice owner and staff. Multiple vegetarian options. Owner can take almost any dietary requirements into account. For example, veggie options can be made vegan.
