Delicious spicy Thai food - Edit
Delighted to find a 100% vegan spot in Surfers Paradise. All the options on the menu sounded tasty, I opted for the spicy chicken chef special which had a good kick and was full of flavour.

Delicious & mega cheap Thai food - Edit
Have been a few times, this is a must-visit whenever we’re staying in Surfers. Large menu with lots of meat alternatives. I can’t go past the lunch or dinner special though, one of the cheapest meals around! You choose 3 options from the counter with rice, for only 14 bucks at dinner or 12 bucks at lunch. Super satisfying and quick meal.

I loathe Surfer's Paradise. I don't think I've been there in 35 years. I only came to gobto Blossoming Lotus and it was worth it. Very friendly staff, very fast service, delicious flavours. I ordered from the hot box. Next time, I'll try the main menu.

Fantastic Thai Food in Central Gold Coast - Edit
This place is excellent!! A little pricey but the flavors rocked on almost all dishes we sampled. The Pad See Ew is some of the best I've had in Australia. The Thai iced tea was also fantastic.

Consistently delicious, best value in surfers - Edit
Have been eating here for years, absolutely delicious choices in the hot bar, unbeatable price (3 choices with rice for $12 at lunch and $14 at dinner). Have finally tried a couple of dishes off the menu, definitely worth trying the peanut satay - it's spectacular! It's just a waste to go anywhere else in surfers!

Not open 😢 - Edit
We drove a long way to have a late lunch here, only to find that they are NOT open from 11am till 10pm … in fact they close from 3pm to 5pm
Read moreSo disappointed, as traffic was absolute hell in Surfers Paradise, and we lost over an hour in finding a park, then walking to what we thought was a meal, for it to be closed !
Previously had a beautiful lunch @Blossoming Lotus in Newtown who do actually open all day, so felt deceived at the hours written on Happy Cow.

Oh that’s annoying. Always google the hours! This site relies on manual updates and not everyone knows when a business changes their hours

Easy to find in Surfers’ Paradise - Edit
Having been to Blossoming Lotus in Newtown as well as their former store in Cabramatta (which had the best satay chicken skewers and rad-na), New South Wales; I was surprised that the Gold Coast branch menu had more options! Other than my regular curry puffs and pad see ew, I had to try their Thai milk tea and durian sticky rice with ice cream (which was delicious 🤤)! Their 14 dollar 3 choices with rice options from the hot bar is great for the on the go/takeaway.

Plant Based Thai on the GC - Edit
I had heard of this restaurant before travelling to the Gold Coast and was super happy to discover it was located less than a 5 minute walk from our apartment. Everything looked delicious. They also offer specials from their hot curry bar. I ordered the Penang curry off the menu, coconut rice and curry puffs. So delicious. There are so many Thai restaurants to choose from here but I loved that I could support an exclusively vegan/vegetarian restaurant with my holiday $$$.

Lovely and well priced restaurant - Edit
Restaurant was in great walking distance from the city centre and where we were staying in Surfers Paradise. Looked at the menu online to not realise they did great $14 dinners where you choose 3 dishes from the hot bar, served with rice. We didn't try anything else unfortuntely but would have loved to go through the awesome options on the menu!

Grumpy waiter - Edit
The shop was supposed to open at 5pm. The door was still locked and I was let in by a rude and grumpy man. Nothing was set up, I asked if I should sit outside for service and he replied yes. I waited for ten minutes and received no attention, though there were no other customers. I ended up leaving hungry. Just because a place is vegan doesn’t mean we should put up with treatment like this. The cleanliness of the place is questionable as well, looks grotty and could do with a good clean. There were also cigarette butts on the ground.

Yummy but small portions - Edit
We ordered the satay stir fry and pad Thai for mains. Both were very good and tasty but left us a little hungry still. We also had the coconut rice which was nicely done, and the fried ice cream for dessert. It uses coconut ice cream and I personally was a little disappointed, good flavour but a bit underwhelming. Overall I found the prices not that great for the serving sizes.

You must try the mini dim sims - Edit
Had a nice meal here the other night. Following the Buddhist philosophy of no garlic or onion in their dishes the flavours are a bit more subtle but enjoyable and you definitely feel light not heavy after eating. The mini dim sims in the steamer are really good, they’re a must.
