Mostly vegan menus of Ayurvedic foods - Edit
This pleasant, quiet and beautiful small restaurant located on a quiet alley amongst the city center serves 3 different tasting menus, small, medium and large. We had the large €35 menu and photos are below of each course (some are combined). We were so full we didn’t have room to finish and took the (yet unknown) desert to go,along with the ginger candy. This is not your typical “Indian” food - much more subtle in flavors but nourishing. The only non vegan items were milk and yogurt drinks, everything else was vegan including dessert. We would have liked less oil, but did not ask for it. Not much English is spoken but the menu is translated and the server had a big smile, which goes a long ways. There weren’t too many people there on a Wednesday night. We enjoyed it a lot and liked the food.

Tasty simple Indian food - Edit
Loved the food, the vibe and our server was great.
Read moreThere's a library, and this restaurant is next to the restaurant's own personal library!!! Hence the name, I think.
We got the thali with the stew (the one listed after curry in a hurry). The pappadum was great, although oily and deep fried. The daal (it tasted like yummy mugh with carrots and ginger added too) was amazing!! Then there were two vadas with yogurt(not vegan) or tomato sauce (vegan). Then yellow rice (vagharelo Bhat). Then a zucchini sabji/shaak and we also ordered the grape juice non alcoholic, which was nice too, if you are looking for wine but no alcohol type vibe.
Also our server was telling another table that they don't use onion or garlic!

Decent no frills food - Edit
Walked into the place and was seated immediately as I was the only person. This is the type of place I just let the waiter recommend what I should have.
Read moreMy first dish received was a lentil soup with papadum, which is a thin, crackly piece of bread. I used the bread to scoop up lentils. Next came the main course which was two meat balls that were crunchy (delicious), with rice and chutney. This dish was good. Last came a salad which was just a salad.
Overall I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to seek this place out but would have it if you need quick sustenance.

Buono e sano - Edit
Rispetto agli altri ristoranti indiani a Roma, molto più sano e delicato, oltre che privo di carne in ogni piatto.

Nice food - Edit
I liked most of the food here! Some really delicious flavours but was let down by the salad which was essentially lettuce leaves with a lot of olive oil. Very friendly staff. No music so the ambience wasn’t really there.

Why - Edit

Just plain horrible - Edit
The night was late, we had had a really long day and were very hungry. No other options seemed to be close by (that were open and we knew of) so we thought ok whatever let’s go here - we would have been better off if we would have bought a banana at the convenience store instead and gone to sleep.
Read moreNot healthy, not tasty, no English. We were told that it is not possible to order a la carte which is what we were planning do. there seemed to be only one person working in the kitchen & service at the same time... You have to eat whatever they make. A bowl of rice, lots of bread for 20 euros - not a single vegetable, barely any sauce 🤦♀️ not kidding...

Excellent flavor central and friendly - Edit
All vegetarian, all vegan options clearly labeled. It's mostly Indian food it seemed, I had a wonderful dosa and lentil soup and my partner had samosas n curried veggies that we great. They spoke English. And it is located very central to the "wedding cake". The restaurant is inside a spiritual book store, on a nice quite side street. I would go back.

Cosy place, friendly staff, yummy Ayurvedic Indian food. I ordered the New Delhi style hummus with raw vegetables, and the lentil dhal with brown rice. Both dishes were nicely spiced and quite large. The Ayurvedic herb tea is not to miss.

I had the dosa and laddhu cake for dessert - both were amazing. Staff were very friendly. The restaurant is aptly named as half of the space is occupied by a library on all things India. They allow you to browse and read the books. Try the Ayurvedic tea!

Delicious cake! - Edit
Back in 2015 had the Maharaaj Thali main between 2 and it was plenty. I'll never forget the almond and pear gluten free cake. I'd go back to Rome just for it! Friendly owner came over to talk to us. Cultural feel of Italian-Indian fusion.
