A decent Banh Mi experience

I didn’t go here expecting to find a fancy place, but even for Vietnamese street food the place is extremely modest. It was difficult to relax due to a pesky insect that wouldn’t leave our table alone. That alone, normally wouldn’t be enough for me to deduct a star. But the appetizers were pre-made (when we ordered fried spring rolls they checked the fridge and said they didn’t have enough left for a full order). And I’d say the banh mi we got was just ok, it didn’t blow me away. With sooo much vegan food in Hanoi, I wouldn’t put this place at the very top of the list

Pros: Local & authentic, Friendly, Vegan

Cons: Pre-made items, Flies in dining area, Full of tourists

Vegan forward!

Very small but a cute little place with many options I’d love to have tried! I had the mixed banh mi and it was great!!! Full of flavour and plenty of filling!

Homemade ethnic, vegan and cheap.

מומלץ בחום. מחירים טובים בעליל לאוכל ביתי בעליל.

Pros: Food, Prices, Fully vegan

Would recommend

Good food. Small, family business. There is a sign on the gate post on the main road so easy enough to find the alley.

super tasty and cheap!

super tasty vegan street food and generous portions! We had the vegan pho, falafel banh mi (not really falafel, but still good) and the crispy pillow dumpling (kind of like a samosa with a spring roll filling). Everything was super good, def recommend. Super cheap too!

Favourite

Absolutely no frills, absolutely delicious bahn mi. Favourite thing I’ve had so far in Hanoi! Staff absolutely lovely too, gave us ponchos when it started to pour down as we were leaving and wouldn’t take any money for them. Worth finding!!

Fresh and Delicious

The staff are very friendly and offer free water refills for customers. The interior is small but there is outdoor seating in the alley. There are many cute vegan posters inside. The menu is not extensive, but everything is fresh and so cheap!

Vegan heaven

This place was great. It was very vegan-forward with lots of vegan signs, pamphlets and lots of Happy Cow stickers. The people running it were lovely and the food was really delicious. It's a tiny place down a little alley but not too hard to find. I highly recommend! We got two banh mi and they were delicious. Also appreciate the free water refills, very generous!

Pros: VERY vegan - no room for doubt, Delicious food, Lovely staff

Banh mi was so delicious for 35K. Also offers free water for anyone who needs to refill their bottle even if you aren’t eating there.

good food but a liiitle overhyped

come on…. the menu is quite small and location isn’t good at all. there’s only 3 small tables, no aircon (just a fan) and no drinks available besides water. food is pretty damn good tho to be fair

Delicious vegan banh mi

Look out for the banh mi chay sign on the street and go down an alley way. A few tables outside and inside. We had the pâté and the tofu banh mi. The pate was more flavourful but both delicious. You can also fill up your water bottle for free.

Amazing

I have nothing to say apart from: “just try it and you’ll see what I’m talking about “. It isn’t just a few vegetables put in a bun, it’s a nice combination of ingredients. Also the stuff is so nice and you can fill up your water for free. If you go to Hanoi it’s a must😉

Lovely banh mi - very good price

The soy meat was more flavourful than the mushroom option. But the soy meat option was a little sparse, I wanted more it was so nice!

Amazing food & the kindest family!

Such a special place! It’s a small, family-run restaurant with delicious, authentic Vietnamese food - seriously, everything we tried was amazing. But what really makes this place stand out is the family behind it.

They used to run a regular restaurant, but after going vegan, they made the brave decision to turn their entire business plant-based, even though it meant a huge financial struggle. Despite that, they’re some of the kindest people you’ll meet. They offered to refill our bottles with filtered water and even gave us bananas to take with us, we couldn'tstop laughing!

If you're in Hanoi and looking for great local food with a feel-good story behind it, definitely check this place out. They truly deserve all the support!

Delicious Bahn Mi

We came for the Vegan Bahn Mi’s and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is very small and down an alleyway so it’s easy to miss. The food was so fresh and delicious!

Excellent place

This place is another one where you need to walk into an alleyway to find the restaurant. It is rather small. There seems to be a couple running the place. The food is really nice and tasty and great value for money. You can tell by reading the menu that the owners are very dedicated vegans.

You have to come herw

This is a sweet, quaint little place down an alley in Hanoi that is devoted to respecting animals and veganism, and the food here is so tasty I did my tasty food dance. Please, if you're in Hanoi, don't miss this place of your itinerary.

Pros: Extremely welcoming, Mixed Banh mi, Mixed noodle
