Very welcoming Indian restaurant, with nice decor and atmosphere.
Read moreWe were well looked after on our recent visit. I shared the onion and potato bhaji and gobi manchurian starters, which were well spiced and flavoursome, before enjoying the delicious highway hot pot all to myself, with garlic pilau rice and a poppadom.
Menu is clearly labelled and reasonably priced and I can't moan at what I ordered, but it would be nice to have a bit more choice of mains.

The number 1 restaurant in Sunderland according Tripadvisor. Thought I’d take a closer look and was quite impressed. After beating the Boro 1-0 and a few pints later we headed for a curry. A very convivial atmosphere was to be found. Took advantage of the excellent £15 starter, main and rice deal. I really enjoyed the onion bhaji and gobi Manchurian starters. My Highway Hotpot was superb, verging on Madras hot, loved it. Not greasy or riddled with cheap onions fillers. Expect to be very well looked after and accommodated.
