Est-ce encore nécessaire de présenter Aux Vivres? - Edit
Highly recommended overall.

Worth a visit - Edit
Our lunch here exceeded my expectations. We ordered the malai kofta and tempeh satay for apps, and the chili fries and a Mekong sandwich for mains. Menu not all that special overall but food was well seasoned and prepared. Serving sizes turned out to be much bigger than we thought and we left stuffed!

Wonderful menu and service - Edit
We had to wait for a table at lunchtime due to the popularity of this restaurant. Once inside, we quickly learned why! They have a large menu of soups, smoothies, juices, salads, sandwiches, wraps, bowls and more. We each ordered one of the bowls which were very generous and delicious. All of the desserts looked fabulous. We shared the key lime pie and thought it was great.

Delicious Weekend Brunch - Edit
The weekend brunch was delicious! We had the one with fried polenta and the one with tempeh bacon. The restaurant was crowded but they had space for us. Good service.

The menu will boost your vegan optimism - Edit
Honestly, it'll take you 15 minutes just to read through the Aux Vivres menu because you'll keep pausing to reflect on the glorious fact that everything is vegan. There's a reason everyone recommends the dragon bowl - it's damn good - but give other menu items a try on your second and third visits. Bring your non-vegetarian friends along as well... they'll want to come back.

The best - Edit
I've been a regular for many years. I've tried everything on the menu and liked or loved most of it. This is probably the best vegan restaurant in Montreal (maybe in Quebec). The staff is friendly, the food is great, the prices are fair, the portions are generous, etc.
Read moreHowever, I'll say that over the years, as the venue got bigger and bigger, it also got louder and crowdier. The music is super loud, which I don't get. The restaurant is always full of people, which makes it rowdy already, and the music only makes everyone have to talk louder. We can't hear each other at all. Please ditch the music, AV!
Also, while I love the option to buy prepackaged foods from Aux Vivres, some of them seem overpriced; like you get *a lot* more food for less $ on the restaurant side.
So, those are some things to improve on, but AV is still a great place. Hopefully they can branch out someday so that it becomes less crowded.
Pros: Delicious food, Fair pricing (in restaurant), Daily(?) specials
Cons: Crowded, noisy!, Overpriced shop items, Loud music!

I liked it! - Edit
The food tasted good and the service was not bad either. There were a lot of people though so a bit loud and we didn't like the atmosphere but over all great place for lunch or for take out rather than romantic dinner.

Not amazing, but really good! - Edit
Really good food, not mind blowing but solidly good vegan food. On the servers suggestion I ordered the Dragon Wrap, really fresh sauce was good little bland, but def tasty. Wife ordered a Buddha bowl, she really liked it. The Greek Mezze app we ordered was really good. Desserts - Key Lime Pie - I didn't care for it needed to be creamier. Wife had the Uncheescake that was really good. Overall really good fresh vegan food. Would def go again. We returned for brunch, and tofu scrambles were amazing best I've had. Pancakes were I little hearty for my taste, but still really good.

Stick to popular choices - Edit
Aux Vivres is great, but you should stick to their popular dishes - i.e. veggie bowls, veggie burgers. Every time I've veered from their classics I was disappointed. All of their desserts I've tried are spectacular, though.

Aux Vivres has great food and great selections. Their blueberry pancakes are the best; the wraps delicious, and the salads are tasty and large enough for a meal. Overall, never a disappointment going there.

Funky and Fun Experience - Edit
We were so pleased to discover this restaurant open quite late at night, we arrived around 9:45 pm. There were so many options on the menu it was difficult to decide! There were several kinds of smoothies so my daughter had and orange creamsicle which she really enjoyed. We started with the chili to start and it was so delicious. It was garnished so beautifully, with tortilla chips, faux sour cream and guacamole YUM! For the main course I finally decided on a Thai Bowl, it was beautiful but I did not enjoy it at all. It had a very strong flavour of lemongrass that I was not expecting. My server was very intuitive, when she came to check on our meal she didn't even ask, she could tell I was not enjoying it and she was very apologetic and said she could not let me go away without being satisfied. We discussed replacing it with something else but in the end I decided I wanted to move on to dessert...she said "no problem" and promised to remove the cost of the Thai Bowl from the bill, and she did. For dessert we had the special for Valentine's Day which was a Chipotle Brownie with Vanilla Coconut Ice Cream...OMG: To Die For! It wasn't even that pretty.... but wow, it had the perfect balance of semi-sweet chocolate and hot chile flavours. The brownie would have been incredible on its own, but the smooth, sweet delicate scoop of vanilla coconut ice cream made it 'out of this world', I would go back to Montreal for this dessert alone! We also had the Choco-Banane Tart, it was also very good. It had a rich and smooth chocolate cream filling with fresh banana flavour. If you are in Montreal I would highly recommend this restaurant. My only complaint is that the food here is so good it attracts carnists and you have to eat your vegan meal sitting next to people wearing fur...there are establishments that don't allow casual attire, vegan restaurants shouldn't allow fur!

Healthy lunch & tasty dessert! - Edit
My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and decided to give this place a try. Happy we did!! We started with the Tempeh Satay and really liked it! Had a great taste. I wanted to order the Caesar Salad, but the server discouraged me from doing so. She said it wasn't worth it. So, I ordered the Dragon Bowl and enjoyed it. The sauce was so so good. I was a little disappointed with the rice and lettuce underneath all the good stuff on top of the bowl (everything on top seemed much more fresh and colorful and delicious), but overall it was a good dish. I loved the taste of the tofu with the dragon sauce. My boyfriend had the brunch Huevos Rancheros and I must say, I had dish envy. The tofu scramble was quite good. I love sour cream, and theirs did not disappoint. We finished the meal off with 2 desserts - the chololate banana pie and the key lime pie. Key lime was too tart for me, but we both LOVED the chocolate banana pie...very rich. If you're vegan and visiting Montreal, I would definitely recommend Aux Vivres.

Amazing!! - Edit
The food absolutely blew me and my friend away...it was so delicious. I had the Buddha bowl with tempeh, and she had another bowl as well. The sauces are so good and the vegan mango lassi was pretty good. The chocolate smoothie I had was a bit too chocolatey, but that's just my personal preference. All in all the service is super fast and the waiters are super friendly, there are tons of options and loads of variety...it definitely is a vegan's paradise!

I had the daily special and it was delicious, unfortunately the portion was quite big so I couldn't take a dessert... but the cool thing is you can just take ask stuff for take-away. Also the waiter asked if we wanted to take the leftovers instead of just getting rid of it.

Always good ! - Edit
I live near Montreal, so I had the chance to eat several times at Aux Vivres. When the daily specials are to my liking, I never hesitate to take this dish. Increasingly, these dishes are not available all the time, so this is our chance to taste it. The portions are generous, the food is tasty and mostly organic. After a day in Mont-Royal, there is nothing better than a healthy meal in this vegan restaurant.

Amazing!! Fresh, tasty, exciting food! - Edit
This was our first and last meal in Montreal! We went along three times, because we loved it so much. The first time we went for a tempeh bowl with miso sauce and a sandwich, and made the mistake of also ordering a side of greens too - which was way too much food. It was all fantastic though! We went again on a Saturday morning, because we were keen to try their brunch, and shared the one with polenta and the one with tempeh bacon & sweet potato. Both were fantastic. The last time we went, we had the seitan gyro sandwich and one with aubergine & taponade. Again, both were incredibly good! It was amazing to go somewhere with such fresh & tasty food. I've not come across anything quite like this in the UK, but have been trying to recreate some of the food at home since I've been back! Also - we want to say thank you to Alex, who served us each time we were there and was incredibly nice, and gave us some excellent travel advice too!

Aux Vivres - Edit
Great little spot, probably the most popular vegan spot in Montreal from what I hear. There is a pick up/grocery sort of section where you can grab some food products and go and there is also a sit down restaurant. The Buddha bowl was exactly what I wanted. The sauce tasted a lot like nutritional yeast and I love that! Fresh, hearty but light at the same time. Hibiscus lemonade is delicious too! Would go back for sure, lots more that I would love to try like the brunch menu.
