Super - Edit
Great food, great service
Read moreDiner theme doesn't do the menu justice. There are many original options eg okonomiyake burger or bowl.
Dessert was good but slightly stuffy.

OG vegan restaurant - Edit
This was the first vegan restaurant to open in Montreal. Open since 1997. It’s wholesome, hearty vegan food. The BLT sandwich is delicious, so are most things on the menu.

Great bowls - Edit
A classic in Montreal. I love the dragon bowl or buddha bowl. The wraps are also really good, especially the vegé pâté one. The sauces and tempeh are very good. I often buy them to cook at home, as they are available in many grocery stores.

Huge portions of great food - Edit
My mum and I both got the Mumbai Bowl for takeout, which consists of organic brown rice, chickpea & potato curry, pakoras (fried spiced chickpea balls), paratha (puffed Indian bread with veggie butter), mint & tamarind chutneys, and carrot. The food was flavorful and hearty, and the serving size was huge - enough to make a voracious eater like me feel full for hours! Definitely recommend this dish if you go to Aux Vivres. Service is friendly and price is reasonable, especially for such a large serving.
Read moreThey also have a small grocery section where they sell many desserts, whole cakes, cookies, sauces, refrigerated/frozen meals, stews, burgers, nuts, tempeh, etc.

Delicious juices! - Edit
I went here for the first time because it was rated as the best vegan restaurant in Montreal and there, I learned it was the first ever in Montreal.
Read moreBeing the first vegan restaurant in Montreal I expected more original food, but is the normal choices for a vegan restaurant: Bols, sandwiches, burgers, etc.
I was a little disappointed there, I wanted to try a very original vegan food.
I ordered a Buddha bol which had too much rice and it could have had more variety of vegetables and more sauce, my husband had a different bol, his sauce was better.
Our non-vegan friend had the tempeh burger, when he finished, he said he loved it!!😄
that was a surprise, a great surprise.
The thing that I enjoyed a lot was the juice, I ordered the one with orange, carrots, dates and other things, it was so delicious, I loved that juice!
Pros: Delicious juices, big bols

Cool vibe and delish brownie - Edit
They have a menu that can satisfy a lot of different types of hunger with their burgers, salads, bowls, sandwiches. The vibe is awesome and they have a good selection of beers and wines. Overall, the food is not amazing but it's a great place nonetheless and always an option you won't regret. Oh and their spicy brownie is truly amazing.

Really expensive + Full of oil + Not fresh - Edit
The food tastes good until you reach almost the end and you feel sick because of the heaviness of the meals without being able to finish it(or finish it with a weight in your belly).
Read moreThe dragon sauce is delicious but once again full of fat.
I would recommend getting the bowls if you want healthier options there.
The owners are not great, there's a lot of problems in the management.
Also, they keep increasing the prices of these products made of really cheap ingredients.
The owners are not vegan, really money-oriented.
All the food is not prepared there. The restaurant just heats and prepares the plates for the customers.
Pros: Dragon Sauce
Cons: Not healthy/Heavy, Expensive, Really salty and full of oil

Pretty good first visit - Edit
Cornbread was quite good, as was the Malai Kofta. Latkes were pretty good, but the tzasiki sauce or whatever it was, was a bit scant. Had to ask for some more of it because it was too dry otherwise when I mixed it all together. I made the mistake of calling it sour cream and I think they gave me extra of that instead of the original sauce. Looking forward to going back for weekend brunch.

Delicious tempeh and sandwiches - Edit
100% VEGAN 🌱
Read moreNice restaurant if you want a good sandwich, Power Bowl or burger. All of their sandwiches are good and the Dragon is the best (must try). The tempeh in the dragon sandwich is perfectly seasoned and sooo tasty.
On the other hand, I had the LOX sandwich (fake smoked salmon) which left me a bit underwhelmed (way too much tofu spread and not enough vegetables).
Overall fair prices (12$ for a sandwich (so big you’ll want to bring half at home))
Pros: Delicious, Quick, Delicious desert (chocolate cake)

A bit overrated but still good - Edit
I spent a week in Montreal, everyone told me about this restaurant. Well, it's ok, but not so overwhelming. I had a bowl which was just a set of raw veggies with grilles tofu and a peanut butter sauce. For 13 CD. The desserts were better.
