Lovely!

I had slightly lower expectations of this place because of some of the reviews on here, but honestly I am very impressed, so much so we keep going back!
First visit we arrived after walking all the way from Haad Salad beach in intense heat, and anyone who knows that hilly route knows we were mad for walking it. They gave us fresh cold water as soon as we sat down and our order arrived quickly.
Firstly the smoothie bowl, which was such a treat after that walk and packed with flavour.
You really HAVE to try their smoothie bowls - most delicious I've had yet.
Then we had the falafel pita, which was quite like a burger - it was really yummy. Not thee best vegan food out there, but definitely better than many places here.
We then had an Americano and coconut milk latte, with banana bread and chocolate cake. Coffee was best on island so far and the desserts were perfect moistness - overall really good!
Prices are very reasonable for what you get, staff are friendly, whole place is really nice, cosy and natural - free WiFi and a library is a big plus too. There are a fair few insects about, but this place is tucked away into foliage so it's a given.
Really do like this place and will be back for a 4th visit before we leave - I recommend coming here, even just for a refreshing smoothie bowl. Shame they do serve meat, otherwise they'd get 5 stars.

Love the ambience and decor here. A great little tree house to relax and enjoy a simple breakfast with an excellent coffee.

Cakes

We just went there to get in some vegan desserts after along time of not having some.
We tried the chocolate cake the chocolate muffin and the banana bread.
Everything was not over sweetened and definitely satisfied us!
They could had been a bit more moist!
Really relaxed atmosphere!

great coffee, ok food

cozy space and great coffee if you are longing for a good espresso, but the food is mediocre. we tried the burrito and the blt. both were good but not necessarily special enough to justify the high prices. Not a great place for vegans, especially given the other options in the area. there are a lot of options containing eggs or cheese, though they have got some vegan pastries.

Good Food, Great Desserts / Calm Atmosphere

I joined a few friends today for an early lunch at Art Cafe. This decor is authentic "Thai Island" style, constructed of wood and bamboo and an open, airy feeling.

I ordered a falafel. It was tasty, but have had much better. The side salad was a bit strange, as it tasted like the dressing was pure ketchup. For dessert, I ordered a banana bread which was moist, perfectly sweet and delicious. Their other vegan desserts actually looked much better, but I was craving banana bread.

Koh Phangan has a number of all vegan and vegetarian restaurants with better food, and having eating at several of them, I have realized that this Island offers some wonderful, very reasonably priced gourmet vegan food.

This restaurant is walking distance to our hotel, and if you are near this restaurant on Koh Phangan, I would recommend it. If you are staying on another part of the Island, I would recommend you come here to chill in a calm atmosphere, drink tea, and eat the wonderful vegan desserts.

Pros: Decor, Atmosphere
